H3000 vs pitchfactor

I need the right harmonizer for the money. For $800 can the original H3000 compare? I would hope it has more to it than the pf.

Seconded, get the H3000! A steal at that price. It does WAY more than just pitch(many pitch effects besides just harmonizing)...the chorus/delays are unsurpassed for their character(other effects too), a class all it's own. It has the sound, it's a keeper! The pitch factor definitely has some great tracking though, it's a very good unit....but the H3000....man I'd get it over the PF in a heartbeat.

Yeah, the H3000 still is hard to beat for a lot of things. 800 is a good buy, almost regardless of condition (as long as it is in full working order) and of which software/effects it has onboard. Which model is it? Original, B, S, SE, D/SX or D/SE?

One thing to remember is that you should run a 3000 in parallel, the ancient converters make for great-sounding FX but you probably won't want to run your dry tone through it. Something to consider when comparing to the PF.

The SE, D/SX and D/SE say on the front panel, and some of them have different color buttons and/or graphics on them, idk about the earlier ones, but there is a pretty good page about them out there somewhere, Google it.

Yeah, they can all be upgraded. Those older ones might need some work on the PCB, though, cutting a trace and a bit of soldering. Depending on what you want it to do you might be able to skip the upgrade, but it does add some value too.

May not need an upgrade for what you want. Run this in a large system W/D\W for the best result, or as s dedicated studio (recording) processor.

There are aftermarket chip sets all over Ebay, I think they mostly are OK. Can't remember hearing about anyone getting a bad upgrade, at least.

Guess who called, the seller who had a tough time selling at a higher price so he called me unexpectedly and I'm on my way to score that H3000 and for our original price

Hell yeah man!!!!

That is a legendary piece of dream gear! Right up there with the Bogner Fish and VHT 2150. For 800 bucks it’s a steal!! Congrats!

a sick box but at this stage LOTS X 10000000 of things can go wrong and replacement parts are very hard to come by
you need to read this 71!!! page thread dude

https://www.gearslutz.com/board/electro ... h3000.html

then.......

https://www.eventideaudio.com/products/ ... nthology-x

i am eyeing /BUYING the anthology X bundle for this very reason alone - Spare parts, and the sheer depth of the bundle surpasses the old school H3000 hardware at this point
a laptop and a breakout audio box might not look as sexy as a racked unit but in the end they are pretty much the same thing and one is fixable and upgradeable the other is a dead end.
either way good luck!

Thx Martin I cannot wait to rack this bitch :rawk: Can I download a manual?

The manual is on Eventide´s website ( https://www.eventideaudio.com/support/d ... ser-manual ), but you´ll want to consult this to get an overview of which algorithms and presets are in your unit:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/ ... S&hl=en_US

As you can see the original version lacks some algorithms and tons of presets compared to the later stuff, but it still does everything most people normally use these for.
