Reamping Solid State Amplifiers

Hello, I recently purchased the Torpedo Reload with the plan of reamping my di’s. Question is: Can I run my solid state Randall head and Marshall Valvestate(1 tube) just as you would a tube amp for reamping? I have been unsuccessful so far going direct and using wall of sound as cab sim. When I record the reamped track and listen back, it sounds like a really faint di and I have to crank up the volume to even hear it. I understand my amps don’t need to be cranked for optimal tone like a tube amp, but was still hoping this would make silent reamping possible none the less. Thank you! Thomas

Hi thomas,

did you use the Match function to make sure the level out of your DAW is the same as your guitar?

The loadbox out of the Reload is pretty hot (that's why we have a -165dB pad). Make sure the pad is not engaged and that you are using a proper XLR balanced connection going into a mic preamp and set the mic preamp gain accordingly. :)
