Anyone running a 2204 into a pair of regular old Greenbacks? Did you fry 'em? Did they hold up?

Scaling down and have an option of a 2061X cab with a pair. Rarely at rehearsal or gigs do I get the Marshall up over 2 on the MV, but sometimes at home I like to hit the sweet spot between 3-4 but that is quite loud. Just wondering if the greenbacks will take it while I'm destroying my hearing.

I know there are other speakers (and I have a few) that would take the power better, but just looking for real world experience of what happened with this scenario.

Thanks.

I think 2061x's came with the 20w Heritage version so you may want to really be careful on how loud you push it. I have used regular 25w GB's with several 50w amps and no issues. Just watch how much you turn up the bass, you'll hear a speaker fart pretty quick before it gives up..

2061X cab is a 60w cab, with 30w G12H Heritage GB's. You'll be fine with that cab.

EDIT: Well you might want to open the cab, and check to be sure. Look's like they may have come with 20w GB's at some point.

I’m looking at a 2061cx cab for my 2204 also. Curious if you’re buying new or used. There’s not many of these around on the used market. The cost of a new cab is steep.

There’s a new one at a store by me that has been there so long it looks used. Might be able to get a deal on it. I’m also looking at a sour mash cab as I like the convertible back option.

The 20W Heritage are still 25W...they just just changed the sticker in an effort to be more authentic.

Have reissues with mine and never a problem holding up. They sound great. Haven't plugged into the cab in ages due to it being a 4x12 but it never had a problem.
