Hey Peeps . . . So besides the trumped up pay sites and the spawn of Satan. . . Craigslist (Yeeeesh, what a bowl of FLAKES) where do people go to meet other worth while musicians and players and writers? I'm in the Bucks County area and recently moved close to Doylestown and there is a hot music scene there so I'm just starting to find my way around. Lots of Rockers and Blues\Jazz players. Most of the local clubs have live music.

I see a lot of really good guitar players that build amps and post here (an of course some not so great ones as well) and I'm just curious if anyone has any advice of meeting decent people who are interested in playing music.

This.

I mean, damn I feel your pain OP. Being in a new area, not knowing the scene and in my case just being too old.

It was easy as a kid. I knew who was good in school and started a band with them. The rest of the guys we met from going to every show that there was. We had a huge/tight scene and it was easy.

Aside from craigs/FB, The old paper ad at GC or music stores going to shows consistently is probably the only way unless you just get to know someone who has been around and already knows everyone.
