No unless the last two frets overhang the body face like the difference between a 21 and a 22 fret neck.

Warmouth has been making direct bolt on 24 fret necks for 22 fret guitars for over 20 years. they use very thick fingerboard which do protrude over the end of the neck cavity and body of the guitar. I have used several of them and the only issue I have ever had was accessing the high frets on stock guitars. All my builds were custom so I was able to extend the bottom cut away for easy access.

You need to take the measurement from the nut to 12th fret, and the 12th fret to the bridge saddles and see if they match. If they don't it won't intonate properly.

My Les Paul is 24 3/4" scale, measurement is 12 3/8" from nut to 12th fret, and from 12th fret to bridge.

This will vary if you have a different scale length (25.5" for Fender IIRC?), so measure the 24 fret neck first, then see if the 22 fret neck sits in the body pocket the same way, etc. so that the measurements match.
