Recommend me a boost to tighten up my Bogner. It would be nice to not have to change the amp's settings to match the pedal and "just works" with how I set it. The previous point is of course within reason.

I absolutely love the Cusack screamer. It's one of the few pedals that makes everything sound better without overly altering the character of the amp.

Which Bogner? Are you looking for solo boost, tone change?

The only one in my signature. :) Uberschall

As in my OP, looking to just tighten it up while working (within reason) with my settings as they are.

I'm not reading all that small font   With my rev Blue, I used to use a Koko boost that I use the Mid boost function on that seems to bring out a nice aggressive edgy mid. Lately I've just been winding the bass knob waaaaay the hell down to aroound 9o'clock and finding the amp tightens up very very well on it's own. Let us know what you go with

The Maxon od808 makes every amp I've played it through sound tight and angry.

I still need to try the Maxon OD808. Next on my list after I sell some of the OD's that recently landed.

I use several different boosts depending on what I am looking for. My advice would be to try several and see which one gives up what sounds best for you. TS variants are popular for a reason. The standard SD1 is as well. The Timmy is more versatile and quickly becoming a favorite of mine.

This is a pic of what I am rotating on and off as needed. Not pictured is a SD1 and Mantra. Original Koko never leaves and the Cusack very rarely leaves. The Eclipse and Koko Reloaded landed this week and have not been tested yet.

FWIW, I think my Ibanez TS808 is tighter and smoother than the Maxon OD808 and OD9 I used to have. The Maxons cut less low-end and the 808 is tad more transparent, though, if that's what you're after.

When I had my Uberschall, I went through a few different boosts and preferred the TS based ones. I think the TS circuit works well with the Ubers because they tighten up the low end and help tame some fizz.

Own:
86 Boss SD1
Joyo Ultimate Drive
Maxon OD808
Boss OD1X
Danelectro Fish N Chips EQ

Used to own:
Airis Savage Drive
Cusack Screamer
Bad Monkey
TS9

All are really cool pedals, just ended up preferring the first five for certain reasons.

When I had my Uber my favorite boost was the SD 805. The three band EQ really lets you tailor the sound. I didn’t have the Savage Overdrive at the same time to compare but imagine it would have been killer with the Uber.

Buxom Boost worked great for my Splawn Nitro which was fairly tight to begin with. OD808 is always a solid choice and one pedal I keep buying, selling then buying again. I have a Savage drive now that I really like but it can get extreme so its best to use it sparringly. I just got a Ryra the Klone which I'm really digging but I wouldnt say its tightening the tone as just adding a little bit of dirt and signal boost.

Used to run an old Boss OD-1 out front of a 1978 Mark I Boogie. The Mark I is severely bass heavy, and that pedal set with the Level maxed and Drive to taste tightened things up nicely. That was 30 years ago, and I did not know what I was doing, but it worked very well. Plenty of tone shaping left with the GEQ and such on that amp though.

The SD 805 sounds GREAT with the Uber Rev Blue I have.

The Ts9 sounds AWESOME with it too. More open compared to the 805 which is good since the Uber is already very saturated. Also reigns in the low end nicely.

The Timmy also sounds good with the Uber.

Savage Drive can also sound good with it but is a bit more finicky with that amp IMO.

Just grabbed a Buxom boost and tried it with the Uber last night real quick and it sounded ok, My initial impression was that the Buxom adds too much saturation to an already awesomely saturated amp. That was just a quick and dirty run with it however, so I do need to play around with it some more.

I think my go to with that amp so far is still the Ts9 followed by the 805.

I'd opt for the M108S EQ in the loop over a boost. Ubers get weird boosted. Just IME, YMMV.

I'd say a regular TS9. Try out a few different ones, they seem to sound different based on the year of manufacture, based on my experience.

I like the Screamer but you cannot get much better for tightening and shaping than the VFE Standout once you get through the learning curve.

The Standout seems very cool. At least in theory it really should just tighten the amp in a transparent way.

I think it’s a clean boost (no mid hump or added EQ, just boosts the level of the incoming signal) but with adjustable high and low pass filters?

That way you can push amp’s input if you want, but also use the high pass cut the sub-low end that is making the amp seem loose (and cut some hairy/fizzy high end too with the low pass).

So it’s not like an overdrive pedal that imposes it’s own EQ and cuts low end because of capacitors and what not in the OD circuit block the low end from getting through.

Recommend me a boost to tighten up my Bogner. It would be nice to not have to change the amp's settings to match the pedal and "just works" with how I set it. The previous point is of course within reason.

I see you've already got some good suggestions but the threads might help

For me, it depends on the amp.
A Green Rhino is usually the best bet for tightening things up.
My modded TS5 is great, too. They aren't versatile overdrives, and don't do much else for me other than lead boost or tightening an amp.
A Barber LTD or 1/2 Gainer and Timmy can be set to tighten things up, but can also be used as clean boosts and great stand-alone overdrives into a cleanish amp. When set for tightening, you can get a bit more bass and modern tone than with a Tube Screamer variant.
The Klon KTR and Klones also tighten things up, but not as much as the previous pedals, impart a different sound in the mid range, and allow more bass to come through.

I use any of the above for boosting and tightening, depending on what I'm trying to accomplish. For straight up thrash/metal, the Green Rhino or TS5. For anything else it's usually the Timmy or KTR.

Also worth noting is an eq. I can use a cheap Danelectro Fish n Chips in front of any amp to make it super tight.

It's not a TS type or an overdrive at all. It's both a clean boost and an EQ pedal with freq cut & boost capabilities.

I set it so that the level is boosted a bit, and dial the bass and treble in so that they match what the amp is seeing so that they aren't over accentuating or mashing those freq's.

The mid knob has an upper mids and lower mid freq switch.
I use the low mid position, and then scoop them out somewhat. This tightens up the gain and pick attack like no pedal I've had before. The bulk of my midrange then comes from my speakers and the amp itself.

Another vote for the Standout. It worked great with my old twin jet. Nothing does tight without messing with your settings better

I was not expecting such a flood of recommendations! I have listened to various videos, gone over reviews, and researched a bit of most of the pedals mentioned here that came up multiple times.

The ones I liked the most (mainly through youtube videos, so I take it as best as I can) are...
- Friedman Buxom Boost
- VFE Standout

I will end up with a Friedman BBoost here pretty soon and I will reply with how it goes.

Just based off your list of amps and the fact you have a Fortin Meshuggah, I'd say you should definitely check out a Grind or Blade in front of that and the Uber. Maybe you already have, I don't know but a boosted Meshuggah amp is a thing of glory.
