    Dialing an Uber rev 2

keep the volumes fairly low, and start with everything aroun 5 or 6. use the presence to alter the mids, towards 0 will be more scooped, going higher goes more thick/midrangey. middle is like a treble control bass I usually keep around 6-7 the gain doesn't really have many sounds, its...

    Rectos now cooler than Diezels?

The only amp's that come close to Recto's in ubiquity are Plexi's and 2203/2204's. Its simply one of the greatest amps ever created - it's use spans multiple genres (Radiohead to death metal), changed the game for what people expect from a multiple channel amp, defined a solid 10 years (minimum)...

    New Amp: Modded Marshall

Just reamped through the JEL, diodes engaged and no boost. Using my Cali 1999 IR's. Love this beast.

    NAD: Bogner Snorkler Mod

This is so true for most of the coveted tones people go nuts over. More often than not it’s the playing that is making it good, rather than the tone itself

    Adan Jones signature Boogie??

He was one of the first people to record with a Rectifier and they were a pretty huge part of Tool’s sound for a few albums. More recently they’ve been seen in the studio and on his live backline. I’d say it’s as crucial to his tone overall as the Marshall or Diezel are, and the fact he’s been...

What albums or bands would you re-amp??

let alone the tones, the timing is so sloppy. guitars and bass need nudging back a bit.

    NAD: Uber OG

Yeah, definitely acts the same. He helped me get to grips with my amp before it came

    NAD: Uber OG

No, I think the change would have been before 207. All the ones I mentioned have the behaviour where the presence knob affects the mids. 207 would be a very early Rev Green right?

    NAD: Uber OG

I have 234 and my buddy has 207 and they have the same presence behaviour (affects the midrange). I also remember hearing Line 6 modelled Reinhold’s personal “golden” unit for Helix, that’s serial 245 I believe. That one behaves the same as mine and my friends too.

    NAD: Uber OG

Would be cool to get a kind of gauge of how the presence and master volume's change with different settings on each amp as both of those controls really define the midrange of those amps. Looking forward to hearing how they compare to each other. Love my Rev 2, I can't remember if you seemed to...

Do the Marshall Vietnamese transformers sound any good?? MAV vs Mercury TONE TEST

Seems the new transformers have taps for 125 / 225 / 245 V even though the switch says 110/220/230. Middle (220V) position might give better voltages for the amp at 230V from the wall, 230V position is probably better for 240V

My new favorite amp!!! The Ground Zero modded Triple Rectifier.

Finally, a recto mod that doesn’t sound worse than stock. Sounds great!

    Marshall Valvestate 8100 vs 8200 Bi-Chrous

reamped through a 8200 and 8080 (same as a 8100). Quite like the 8200 here, suits the song a bit better.

Where can you purchase a Large Shipping Box for an amp?

Costco has worked great for me to find amp boxes, quite often i’ve found several doubled thick ones that are perfect. Sometimes fashioning 2 together can work well too if you pack the internals really well.

Anyone know anything about this Park amp?

Only just seen the thread but can’t see the post in the OP. I had a JMP2144 for a while that Park had a version of. Pretty cool amp if it’s the same one. I just had this one arrive, 1980 1210 Rock Head:

1995 Dual Rec vs 1999 Triple vs 2019 Triple vs 5150 vs Meshuggah vs SLO vs Monomyth vs Dover vs KSR

99 95 50th For me, not much in it though. The 90's ones sound a bit more aggressive, 50th is more refined and a bit tamer. 95 sounded slightly tubbier than the 99

    Krank Krankenstein: Yay or nay?

Some reasonable parts but kind of shitty PCB layout. They're very good sounding amps, I think Krank was around in a totally different marketplace 20 years ago and its probably an easier climate for smaller amp brands to exist now than back then because of social media. Krankenstein is...

    Modelers suck

hmm, I mean guitar dudes posting clips on forums isn’t really where I’d be judging this stuff. There’s so much scope with all these different plugins out there, IR packs, NAM/ToneX models, pedals etc to mix and match. Stuff sounding bland and uniform is down to the individuals lack of...
