    Modded Recto better than stock?

I think the fizz was mainly on the 3 channels.

    Modded Recto better than stock?

    I understand, I did both and that's why it's a 25 minute video.

    Modded Recto better than stock?

You have great vids, been a long time subscriber and I have bought a many of Mesa/Boogie’s based off your content.

    Modded Recto better than stock?

Thanks Dan. I actually agree with everything you said regarding my vid….including the songwriting. I don’t know how these guys come up with killer demo songs. It’s something I lack for sure. I wouldn’t call Reza a friend, I know of him and his reputation here but I gave credit where credit...

    Modded Recto better than stock?

I don’t blame you. It’s a long video and probably needs to be trimmed down in hindsight. Some appreciate the added info/dialog and some just want me to get to the point and play the amp. That’s why I made chapters to skip to for the viewer. Regarding the title…(I see you edited and took that...

    Modded Recto better than stock?

Well this mod doesn’t make it completely different and I obviously didn’t have a click bait title if you watched the entire video, so I’m safe

    Modded Recto better than stock?

….my fam went over to my folks for Sunday lunch and guess what we had to eat? Lol

    Modded Recto better than stock?

I think the problem is two different opinions of the stock recto tone. You’re comparing it to a 69 chevelle (using that as an example…my fav) and I’m comparing the tone of a fat guy crunching on fried chicken lol. I’m being pretty harsh, it’s not THAT bad. With a boost it gets there though...

    Modded Recto better than stock?

It was $400 but yeah definitely worth it. If all your into is chuggy chug chug then I can see the appeal of cutting corners with a little box of transistors. If it gets you to your end goal, that’s all that matters..

    Modded Recto better than stock?

This is my finding also. Made the entire amp way more versatile and usable, still recto DNA but leaned toward its SLO origins. I think it sits well right between an SLO and stock Recto IMO. I don't really understand the "sounds neutered" or "its not pissed off" comments when you compare a...

    Modded Recto better than stock?

Thanks @GeoffF I appreciate that. I agree. I probably should had killed the reverb when I went into the modern mode. I despise dry tones but a little room ambience is all it probably needed.

    Modded Recto better than stock?

It came up because of the lack of balls in your critique and phones lack low end. I agree 100% it’s just difficult to get 55hz frequencies to come through iPhone speakers.

    Modded Recto better than stock?

Thanks Dave. Which part exactly is bloated to you? The BP intro music is not the recto. It’s my modded CAA OD100 SE+ but after that it goes into the JT Recto demo song.

So it’s safe to say you guys hate the Badlander too?

    Modded Recto better than stock?

When I look at the analytics, over 90% of viewers are using a phone for playback, which is understandable. I do the same sometimes if I’m not in front of my near-fields or headphones. Still very much a recto just tightened up, more mids and fizz free. Too bad I didn’t have a stock recto to...

    Modded Recto better than stock?

Detailed vid on the John Tokarski recto mod featuring John himself on the origins of the mod. Also lots of Suhr guitar content, Gibson LP Collectors Choice Nicky, Friedman Custom Shop Cali and a ‘78 Marshall 412 shows up in the mix too.

SOLD - Suhr Modern Terra Mountain Grey

Man that’s badass. I don’t need a 10th Suhr in my stable but that is a looker. Would go well with my blacked out modern.
