50 vs 100 watts

I just got a jmp 2203. While I dig the headroom and thump live, I prefer the feel and sag of the 50 watters I've had more.

I saw Toxic Holocaust recently and their guitarists' 50w 5150 III El34 was underwhelming. It sounded okay but really lacked the punch I'd have wanted. Could have been the venue, his vol preferences or the general area I was standing, but I did move around a bit.

I didn't like that amp at all and I'm a 5150-III fan. My 6l6 50watt heads sound amazing and I saw Sevendust years ago with 100 Watters and was insanely good.

I got 50watt EVH amp heads strictly from a cheap skate standpoint and not needing more power, extra weight, more tubes to swap, etc but people gave the 50watt such great reviews, that is wasn't an issue.

I know Schenker plays 50 Watters, or used to anyway, but don't know many other famous players who like them over 100 watts.

Depends on the situation, 100 watts push more air but need to be pushed.
