I'm a complete newb when it comes to amp biasing. I bought a nice matched pair of power amp tubes for my Marshall 6100 amp. Does anyone have anywhere that a guy can learn how to do this without - A) killing himself/ B) ruining the amp? and most of all, getting it right so the new tubes work well.

Thank you very much.

You tube can be a good source. Get yourself a bias-rite and if your Marshall has 34s they should bias up to 30-40ma. You should really check what the transformer puts out but I trust that my Marshall is safe within that range. But be very careful poking around underneath if you want to change the bias...there's a plastic 'screw' that hangs upside down that you can turn with a very small flathead. You can be killed by the voltages even if the amp is off..the capacitors store energy so be careful. Not sure what the bias should be if you have 6L6 in that amp. I'm no expert..but I get by. Much more experienced minds than me on this forum....

Do your homework on the net. You need a multimeter, to measure the bias. Google "lord valve, biasing" and that search should bring you to a very detailed tutorial on different biasing methods, be very careful and always ground your multimeter before getting started.
