Blackwater Les Paul

So what are your thoughts on this guitar ?
They named it Blackwater? Chad Kroeger's specs I guess.
Transparent AAAA + top in black,
has a piezo ghost bridge,
and dedicated volume control for the system. Whadda ya think?
The finish reminds me of the 1st Joe Perry Les Paul......

I hate, HATE to admit it, but it looks like a real winner... killer top, killer finish, really simple and classy, and a very useful addition to the overall LP vibe (the piezo).

I would love to see a properly bookmatched Les Paul. ALL Les Paul tops are terribly matched, it drives me insane. I don't think it should be considered a AAAAA top if it isn't bookmatched properly.

I dig it, looks pretty badass IMO. Even if you hate Nickelback/Kroeger, his signature is only on the truss cover.

I got a line on one that has almost an perfectly matched top. like one piece. No kidding. That was the first thing that struck me on this .....

Yeah, I missed that first Joe Perry les-paul..
I have tried many times to get one of those.
It never works out. They are very rare...
When you do find one it is way over priced. or it is ragged out.
So this to my knowledge is the first one with this same kinda vibe to it .. finish wise.

Ha! Don't you dare put the confused smiley out there, you know of what I speak! In all seriousness I recently picked up a new Custom Shop Black Beauty and I love it! It plays like a dream and is really a quality piece. Gibson can still do some things right!

Now I'm all for helping out the handicapped when you can, but I agree it is about time to move Ray Charles out of the bookmatching dept. at Gibson.

worthy Blackwater paul.
I got my name on it and will look forward to checking it out for myself.

Yeah, the truss rod cover says Black water on it.
so I don't really mind that.
Funny thing is the reviews on this guitar I have read so far,
look like they were submitted by amateurs without a clue what they are talking about,
or the reviews are bickering over this being a chad kroeger guitar.
None of that shit matters.....
Is it or is it not a worthy guitar based on how it is made,
the price it costs for what you really get,
and what options it has,
and most important is does the specific one you have in your hand have good tone ,
and does it resonate..
