Herbert into a 2x12?

Hi guys,

I've been thinking of getting a 2x12 cab (150 watts) and was wondering whether I would be able to run my herbert through it so long as I don't crank it?

I'd be using it at bedroom levels on this cab but as the herby is 180w I was concerned it might blown up the cab/spontaneously combust/initiate a metalpocalypse...

Also, any opinions on Budda cabs (open back specifically)?

Yeah, just don't crank it up. Nevertheless initiating the metalpocalypse sound f***ing brutal!

Just out of interest, would cranking it potentially damage the cab, the herby or both?
 
If cranked, it could blow up your speakers and damage the amp (mostly powertubes and output-transformer), but mostly it would damage your ears and burst all the windows within a 10 kilometer radius.
 
There's a lot of satisfaction to be had in blowing up speakers or at least trying. But, for a 212 with V30's (120 watts), the cops will be there long before you damage anything other than windows, sheet rock, small animals, etc.
 
Buy a 4x12 dude if you are really worried... it s not that much of a difference in terms of height etc.

something like 12-13 cms taller than a 2x 12.
even in terms of price!!!!
