Hey all,

Figured I'll start my day good and let you talk me into getting a Diezel 212 cab. I already own a Bogner 212 (1/3 open back, V30's) and really love this combination. Having said that, I am thinking of getting a Diezel 212 to replace / add to the Bogner. Since I have not got the opportunity to try one around here, I will need some opinions.. ;)

Do the Diezel cabs sound WAY different from the Bogner 212's? Front or Rear loaded, closed or open, speakers... sell it to me! :D

Thanks!

I can't compare the new cabs to the Bogner cab you have, but I do know that they all sound awesome with Diezel amps...very different than any other cab I tried before.

As for which cab: What kind of music do you play mostly? I'm guessing metal, so I would go with a V30 fl cab, but if you play above bedroom-levels a lot, I'd suggest a GK100 fl cab...

Hmm... I play mostly rock, actually.. Foo Fighters, Pearl Jam, Alter Bridge (is that still Rock? :)) stuff. From your answer, I guess the FL cabs are more or less "direct". As for the new cabs / speakers.. no clue. I like the sound of my V30's...

Thanks!

Well, it couldn't hurt to get the GK100 cab then, since you already have the Bogner V30 one which you like. Compare them once you have them both and then toss the Bogner out...

Those Bogner cabs are amazing. Excellent stuff.
If you want to expand your sonic spectrum, I'd suggest to try one of the new hempcone 2x12" cabs. Also amazing. And not for bluesers only - tighter than you would expect ;)

Who makes the hempcone 2X12's? Bogner, or Diezel?
And are they warmer and more balanced than v30s? ...i HATE v30s with a passion. Always harsh and ice picky at high volumes.

I can't stand v-30's but I sure do love the hemp cones and the G12K100's in our cabs. Cab construction says a lot about how those hemp cones sound IMO.

I have 2 4x12 diezel cabs one is front V30 and the other is rear hemp cones. They work so well together I can't even come up with some hyperbole, the hemp cones balance out all of the nasties of V30's, but still allow them to give your sound some kick. The hempcones seem more defined in the high frequencies too, but not pain inducing. In the lows they provide some real depth to go with the V30 punch.

Anyone who doesn't like V30's should try that combination, it might just change your mind! I wouldn't have kept the V30's on their own, but now I'd not want to be without them.

Well i have 4x12 slant marshall with 2 vintage 30's and I added 2 greenbacks.Made it better but I still wasn't happy.I had a custom built 2x12 cab.I'm currently using a tone tubby alnico and a vintage 30.I play mostly old school metal. The alnico hempcones are the bomb.I wish I would have tried sooner.Soon as I get more $ will load another hemp in.I know a lot of the guys prefer a combo of ceraimic an alnico.

i´m getting a 2x12 rl hempcone cab for my schmidt too. That combination rocks
But I like the other caby as well!

Hmm.. So I guess I'll have to find a store near me where they have a 212 FL with Hemp Cones.. :)

that would help!!! :D
But you must have a look at the other cabs too.
It´s up to your ears! Just try!

Try EVM12Ls. Crank your amp as much as you want & forget about them getting harsh & they work live 100 times better than v30s.

Can someone confirm that?

I would like to buy one for my Bogner 2x12 oversized to match with V30. Which one is better in combination with V30, ceramic or alnico?

that really depends on what your looking for... alnico will have more chime but it will also be less aggressive . that might not matter since your mixing. if you go to the "a broun sound" site youll notice that they will recone a vintage thirty for 120 bux.

I have been thinking of sending my favorite speaker to him for a recone and then mix it with an original of the same type rather than buying a tonetubby...

http://www.abrown.com/services.html

strangely enough the section about reconing vintage thirties is gone, I was going to link you right to it. their website is brand new as of today, yesterday it was totally different!!

well, i'm going for more modern stuff... i would like to buy one speaker to smooth up highs of the v30 when they are in pair...
