VH4 Channel 2 - more gain ? Peter ?

peter ,
i'm extremely happy with the tones from my new VH4 , and channel 2 is my particular favorite .
however , a little more gain on this channel would be great .

is it possible to get more gain from channel 2 - maybe with a tube swap ?

do you have a recommendation , and which position should i try ?

:D

VH4:
V1 Used by all channels
V2 Used by channel 4
V3 Used by channel 2/3/4
V4 Used by all channels
V5 Mixer and Send buffer
V6 Return driver
V7 Phase Inverter

use a RFT ECC83 in V1 and V3.

cool - thanks for the fast reply !

will this then give more gain to channels 3 + 4 ( which i dont want ) ?

also , the tone of channel 2 is great , and i dont want to change that . will the swap affect the tone ?

Well, the only specific solution would be a modification of channel 2 then. Best would be that Peter suggests a tech who would change "this and that" on the channel circuitry like changing cathode/plate resistors and/or caps.

As you can see from the tube layout: using something different in V1/V3 will change the overall sound of all channels.

A RFT in V1?
They are like Ei´s. Too much microphonics because they´re the Tubes with the biggest amount of gain.

The difference: EIs (like Teles and Siemens) are long plates. RFTs have super short plates, thats why microphonicity is a rare prob with them.
