Last summer, I found this pair of ADA cabs. I have seen a lot of them as singles but I found the pair for quite cheap so I pulled the trigger for no other reason that they were in every guitar magazine from the 80’s and they looked cool AF back then and still do today. Connected today in W/D configuration with the Myasnikov X88 pre- into 2 poweramps: the Powerstation 100 and the VHT2150 with each amplifier’s speaker out to it’s respective ADA cabinet. This whole set up is all 80s.. Hello honey! I’m home.

I had four of those ADA vertical SplitStack 2x12 cabs back in the day. Part of a complete ADA rig: MP-1, MQ-1, B200S. Eventually replaced the MP-1 and MQ-1 with a MP-2. I still have the MP-2 around somewhere.

This was the last rack before I sold everything except the MP-2:

Congrats!

Those S50s are surprisingly good sounding speakers...kinda V30 ish without that spike that can be unpleasant with a Marshall. For a smaller magnet speaker, they don't fold up/fart out like the L35s do.

This exactly. There is a really nice character to these cabs that’s different than the V30s. Not harsh. Bright but pleasant. I’ve been so tired this week because of work so I could not fiddle too much but yesterday had a few moments and I am very happy with the whole package. Sounds good and look ls good.

"Tone for days with my ADA's"

I still remember the slogan. Those ads were in every Guitar Fort The Practicing Musician mag.
