Where is Jake E Lee now?

I have been on a major Jake kick since I read this post. That first Badlands album is awesome. I forgot how good it was. It's been years since I heard it. His playing and tone are incredible. Been jammin to the song Killer of Giants off of The Ultimate Sin as well. That song is amazing. I hope Jake is doing well. Phenominal player.

Sad stuff for sure, but I heard he's been a junkie for a long time now. I heard he and most of the Badlands band were shooting heroin back, so him being an addict is not new news. Wouldn't be surprised to hear it went back to the Ozzy days since drugs were probably available like M&M sitting in a candy dish.

But as other's said, at some point you need to man up and make a decision as to how you want to live your life. Guess he chose drugs, trailers, and strippers - not the 1st one to go down that road...
I hung out with Jake for an evening after he played a gig (Mandy Lion on vocals...awful!) sometime over the winter of '93-'94...he was straight as an arrow and very talkative about Ray and Badlands. First off, the "bad blood" was over Ray's heroin use and the damage that it was doing to the band...Jake was not using the drug. He was still very upset over Ray's passing, and obviously a bit pissed that Ray had gotten himself involved with a shady crowd.

Here's a picture of us from that night:

As for his alleged current drug use, I've heard all the rumors, but nothing from anybody close to him, that he is in fact an addict. I do have a a forum bud who is a friend of Mike Varney's who claims to know for a fact the Jake is NOT an addict...he's just become jaded with the business and became somewhat of a recluse. I have yet to hear any of the people who supposedly "know" that he's a junkie site their source (including in this thread) so until any of them step and do that, or at the very leasy explain hiow they know, I'll withold judgement.

I'm with you mang!

Too funny. Throw in Winter's Call and we're playing the exact same things. Good stuff. Now, if I could just get that tone....

Jake is in Vegas and doing great. He has bought at least 60k worth of gear in the last couple year at the shop I work at in Vegas (Cowtown Guitars). The video of him this years was a a friend of mine Andrew B-day party at Boomers Bar in Vegas. Jake got up and did a few tunes. He still rips. As for the hosting at a casino. He did that as a favor to my Wife and I. She works for stations, and her boss at the time was a HUGE Jake fan. He is a great guy. He does not live in the Trailer. he lives in an apartment. Just so you know.

Glad to hear from the other posts that Jake actually is doing well, as I had heard from folks in the LA scene that wasn't the case during the Badlands era. Go Jake and put some new stuff out!

Excellent to hear, love to see Jake back and rockin!

Sorry all for getting back on what I found out. My laptop died and Apple ended up giving me a new MBPro 2.66 for all the trouble and time I had.

Well I caught up on all the posts since and found out that of the 2 nights I went down there I missed him one time by minutes. I found the manager and Jake is in and out occasionally. He is not hosting the show regularly and is just friends with some of the people there at the casino, like the guy said earlier.

I will be back in at Palace Station in June and hopefully I can catch him. In the mean time I will also be checking out Cowtown Guitars.

So it's just a shot in the dark whether you'll run into him... :dunno:

Jake unlike Randy really didn't know how to handle Ozzy and writing with him. Where Randy would bring things out of Ozzy, Jake never had the patience.

Yeah, Randy knew how to handle that. He would go off and write w/ Daisly and Kerslake instead!  At least back then, Ozzy didn't do much (any?) writing, even the lyrics weren't his.

 as I've heard it, Daisley did most the lyric writing up until No More Tears
