I am looking to purchase a MINT Mesa Boogie Road King II Head.

If you have one that you might want to sell then send me a PM to let me know about it (and how much (reasonably priced, please)), and thanks.

It must be in MINT/EXCELLENT condition.

I am located near Anaheim, California.

My 2008 RK2 with JT modded channel 3 & 4
could be the most mint RK2 in existence.
(speaking of MINT).

I knew of an AMAZING half-pipe veryramp in Anaheim,
GNARLY vert!!!!

That’s the 2008 catalog,
The MK4 medium body head was $1899!!

The one provided above is definitely a killer amp but unfortunately seller's distance and the mods made it out of my price range.

I'm still looking for a RK2.

Here are some reference prices for recently sold ones (all in excellent condition) :)

1) https://inlandempire.craigslist.org/msg/d/rialto-mesa-boogie-road-king-ii-dual/7604315771.html (it sold for $2,000 a few weeks ago)

2) Another one sold near me that was listed on Reverb and CL (the seller offered it to me for $1,600 but I couldn't make it there that weekend (he sold it for $1,800))

3) https://www.rig-talk.com/forum/threads/mesa-boogie-road-king-2-clip-sold.266548/#post-3157366 (it sold for around $1,800)

There has been some other ones sold in this range as well over this past year.

I'm thinking $1,800 to $2,200 based upon various ones that have been sold on Reverb and locally on CL.

I might have to wait awhile for the right price in this condition but I do have a RK1 that will hold me over very well until I get that special one :)

If you have one in EXCELLENT/MINT condition and you can let it go somewhere in the price range of $1,800-$2,200 or you come across one on Reverb for a similar price then let me know about it through a PM, and thank you!!

Take your cheap ass WTB and go get a Dual Rec for $1800!!!

Justify that GRRRRRRR are you angry yet boy???!

- go buy the sketchy RK2 for $3200 in crap condition on Reverb right now and then break for it down for us so you can get it cheaper.

There was no reason for you to come and attack my post here or make these comments.

I didn't disrespect any post or reply that you have ever made here on Rig Talk.

I didn't disrespect any of your PM's or replies back to me.

You just quoted me $3500 for your amp and I said I couldn't afford to buy the amp for that amount (plus you had previously quoted me $3,000).

I will find this amp (non-modded) in great condition within the $1,800 to $2,200 price range but I may have to wait awhile to find one (I'm not in a rush to get one).

You have a JT modded version of the amp so it would be understandable that you would want more for your amp than the ones that are not modded.

There really was no reason to come here and insult me or my post here.

Who is this "JT" anyways? I'd rather have a stock version to start with if it were me, if only for the sake of reference.
These current stupid-prices will reduce in a short time I bet. People are just hoping to capitalize on the inflation but it won't last.

I had met John Tokarski (JT) during his years working at the Mesa Boogie Hollywood store.

He was always very helpful with choosing the right Mesa Boogie amp for me and he was a great resource for tech questions (instead of calling the Mesa Boogie Tech Support people).

Personally, I would rather have a stock version myself as well then determine if a mod was needed.

I had emailed John (JT Amplification) to see if he could "undo" any mods he had previously done and he said that he is not working on anything right now (it might be possible at a later time).

And yeah, I think I'll find the amp in a MINT/EXCELLENT condition and the price range of $1,800 to $2,200 since they have come up here and there so long as I am patient and keep looking around for them.

Dino, that was uncalled-for mate; maybe you could apologise?

Speaking of apologies, you owe JBT one. See my call for it here.

JT worked for mesa for a long time and has a business doing mesa mods and a direct box. His mods are very affordable (shipping both ways cost more than my mod) and it was an excellent quality mod. I really like the amp (and I’m not much of a mesa boogie guy really). Cool dude and good customer service.

What makes a road king a road king . What’s the difference. I’ve never seen one in person

It's the king of the road because it has about everything a touring pro could need from an amp so far as versatility.
The RK allows you to assign each channel it's own wattage, tube-type, rectifier, speakers ect,.
You can have a different speaker cab for your cleans vs hi-gain,,,,,,,or you can use el34 for your gains and 6L6 for the clean stuff, or a mixture of the two.
