Hey guys.... which of my Super Leads (or Super Trems) sound the best to you guys. There are two different "riffs" each played by the 4 amps back to back. The amps may be stock, may be modded, and may or may not be cranked and attenuated using the THD Hot Plate. All are using the same guitar, cab, speaker, mic, mic pre etc.

These are unboosted and in typical vintage Marshall fashion don't have quite enough gain FOR ME on lead stuff. You will hear me struggle to try and get the pick squeals and struggle to try and pull off the lead licks.

If you could, tell me which ones you like the best or the least and what you like or dislike about them.

Thanks

Thanks for listening guys. I want a modern, hi gain amp and one of these amps has to go.

My hearing is shot from a practice today, but I like amp 2 the best. My least favorite was amp 3. I'm not sure about the others.

I like 2 then 1.

What guitar did you use for the clips?

I have no clue.. they all sounded so similar... I think the next to last one might have been the best one. But they all sounded awesome. :D

Hmm... now that I'm listening again, 2 and 4 sound like shit! How much do you want for those dogs? I'll take them off of your hands for cheap. :D

The guitar was my Suhr Standard.

I'd like to get a few more opinions from some of the usual suspects. Don't worry guys, there are no POD clips mixed in here to screw you up. :D

I'm not a usual suspect but I liked 4 best, then 1 or 2, can't decide, then 3. Three sounded kinda loose to me, but they all sounded good.

What kind of trades are you looking for?

Oh yeah and Curt, I've been meaning to ask you...

What's the deal with that goldtop les paul you have? It's been haunting my dreams recently. :D

That gold top Les Paul is a '71 or '72. It belonged to John Norum and he used it and was pictured with it on his "Worlds Away" album. He had trouble getting it to stay in tune and got so frustrated that he sold the guitar. This was at the time that Mark Cameron was working with him. I ended up buying the Norum Les Paul from the same guy Mark worked for when Mark got his hands on the whole Jose Arrendondo Marshall collection.

Speaking of haunting and that Les Paul, the kid who works for has been bugging me for 8 years to sell him that guitar. He finally offered me his early 70's Custom and an original San Dimas Charvel for it. I took the trade. So that guitar is gone and I don't miss it at all. I'm not a LP guy. I just don't like the damn things.

I know you still want that guitar Mark. Jay owns it now so it's still in the "family" and not out of anyones sight.

Curt, do you have any cool les pauls in at your shop right now? I'm selling my Charvel and I'm going to have some cash to burn.
