Got the other side done, and, other than it being sore as hell, most of the typing-soreness is gone, so I'm typing like normal now :)

Played drums earlier, over-did it and got REAL sore for about an hour. No pain killers today until then, which I took my normal "load" of 1 5/500 vicodin + 800mg ibuprophin.

Today went to the doc to have the bandages removed, and he was very happy with the difference with my left vs my right and even the apparent "progression". This time, he "tested" something with me - regarding the bandages he only used a splint around the wrist, instead of from the top of the hand, around the elbow, then back to the bottom of the hand - he said the results are such that he'll do it this way for all of his new patients. COOL! The major difference being that I can nearly straighten my arm (couldn't do that until a week after w/ my right) - and can touch my shoulder (2 weeks later).

He also explained the proceedure a bit to me, which was cool. As much as some things really got me worked up with him, I have a lot of respect for the guy, and can appreciate how much passion he has for his work. YOu can tell just by talking to him and listening. Even when I went into the OR, he was chatty and saying he was going to try something with regards to the bandages - I told him I have complete confidence in him was soon knocked out...

Well, after that long story - here's the pics!

+1, those wounds look so unimaginably painful. I couldn't imagine how you do anything, but best of luck in your recovery! :D

The incisions only occasionally burn - much like any cut would.

That said, outside of that it's not all that bad. Mostly feels like pulled muscles - that kind of ache. I guess think of it as a "dull roar" of pain.

I'm actually incredibly happy with how good my left arm feels. At this point with my right, I was still hurting quite a bit...doc didn't have any absolute reasons, but had a couple theories, just as I do...

If I do something wrong, I know it pretty quickly that it was wrong - the exception of playing drums earlier - I didn't realize it until about 5 minutes afterwards - snuck up on me :)

Catching the stitches on things is annoying and can be pretty painful - but the thing is, the incision itself cut nerves, so it's actually pretty numb in that area...

For my elbow - you know that knob you have on your elbow? Basically, you have the elbow "point", then the funny-bone nerve (ulnar), then a knob - well, that knob is gone now :)

thats nothing you should see my left arm after i had it cut open when they put an 8 inch metal bar on my humerus. Ill see if i can find the pics tomorrow.

I broke my funny bone in half about 2-3 inches above my elbow, 8inch bar and a bunch of screws, over 40 staples.

You wont believe how bad rehab sucks for breaking the funny bone, it took so long too.

Hot long did they have your arm locked up?

I've been lucky and not had to have any rehab for this and when I broke my wrist - though I'm fairly agressive in the DIY end of things - lol...

Sucks you got staples too...

my arm was at about 115 degrees for a couple months, lying down to go to sleep when your arm cant extend is a slut and half, I had to sleep in a lazy boy, waking up every couple hours to take more hydrocodone. Pretty much had to totally relearn guitar. The real kicker was that I got to play a diezel einstein and matching 4x12 with a 80s silverburst les paul custom the day I broke my arm.

Should see the scar now, cant remember the type of scar my body made, but its fucking huge! Works great with the ladies.

Yeah, having your arm locked up really makes rehab suck - especialyl for that long!

When I broke my wrist, cast was for 6 weeks, and I was doing everything I could to move what little I was able to - still took nearly a month for all of the range of motion to come back.

That's suprising they put a piece of re-rod in ya and still kept your arm locked up - it must have been severly fucked up, or they were being extra cautious.

The scar on my arm is looking pretty "fine" as well - this was taken yesterday

Speaking of ladies - I had a trac done when I was around 6 - when I was in my teens I told people I got stabbed in the throat by a mexican. That got me some tang a few times - lol...

they tried to get the bone back together for a couple weeks before I had surgery, pretty much right after the wound healed I was in rehab. I couldnt extend my arm at all after the surgery, it just wouldnt move, tons of atrophy as well.

WOW - never felt a level of pain so great.

Saw what I thought was a car hair sticking out of the seam - grabbed onto it and gently tugged - came out a bit and then BAM - holy fuck!

Just make sure I did it again - WOW-fuck that hurt!!! - looked at it closely - it's thread!!!

Snipped it off with some scissors then massaged the area - left about 1/8" - thread is gone now after rubbing the area and stretching my hand a bit...

never experienced that before....shit - it still hurts! Made my stomach hurt and stuff...wow...
