I think it is a synth processor.

I think the variax has that feature too. It's that Roland pickup which has a different signal for each string. I think the Roland VG-88 does it too, but it requires their 13 pin cable.

That is pretty awesome...I wonder how it sounds in person?

That is FRICKIN' COOL!

I guess the alternate tunings work by adjusting each string's note by a certain amount of half-steps based on standard tuning?

So if you were already tuned to drop-D and then used Drop - D mode, you'd probably end up dropping the top string down two whole steps?

At any rate, frickin' WILD!

It looks like it's basically the guts of the guitar portion of the vg-8/88 built into a guitar. The VG-8 came out like 10 years ago. It also does effects and amp modelling. The VG-99 is the new version. It looks pretty cool too.

this looks really cool, the tuning thing is really neat. Although I never liked the roland vg88, my guitar teacher had it and it always sounded digital.

When he goes into the drop B metal? Oh.... :?

It's not drop B, it's B standard. Just like a baritone would be tuned, B E A D F# B. Every string down 2.5 steps.
