I know many won't read this, but if you want to skip the LONG story about ordering Behringer's replacement parts just scroll to the end for the reason for this post, other than being informative and perhaps saving others from my mistake..

About a year ago I ordered a Behringer UB1002 mixer from eBay, without adapter, and didn't realize it took a special type of adapter until I got it. You can only order it from ONE SITE, or from a Behringer dealer near you.. I actually looked up any Behringer dealers near me, and all were out of business. Hooray.

Now I'm trying to order a replacement from http://www.dbmproaudio.com/behrparts.html ..

Last Wednesday, I sent them a fax with all of the required information for purchasing via fax, as suggested by the site. After not hearing from them or seeing a change of my debit card balance for two days, I e-mailed them requesting confirmation. I have still not received a return e-mail..

So today, I checked and again my debit card balance was the same. :x I finally went back to the site and saw, "If you require RUSH SHIPMENT, call this number!" So I called them, and followed the automated operator and dialed the extensions to reach: "Order a replacement Behringer Part."

Shortly after, I hear, "To order a replacement Behringer part, please send a fax with name, blah, blah, blah, and part number etc. to this number;" it was the same number I had already faxed.. What a great alternative for rush shipping that was!!

Still have no confirmation of my order, and am losing patience quickly. I have tried to find this certain adapter (Behringer Part # PSU-0048) for the Behringer UB1002 (also used for UB502 and 802) mixer. It is also known as a PSU-MXUL3.. Does anyone happen to have one that they would be willing to sell if DBM Pro Audio falls through (which I'm guessing will happen)?

What should I do? Do I wait and hope they finally process my order? Do I go ahead and try to buy it from someone/somewhere else and risk being charged by them afterwards?

Man am I glad Behringer just doesn't have a form to fill out online to order spare parts, and I'm also glad they use these special types of adapters! I e-mailed Behringer support as well and was told they cannot help me, but to instead order one from a dealer..... GREAT.

Sorry for the long post  ,

Why I am not surprised.

What is so special about this adapter, does it have special end, weird voltage? What I am saying is can you get an adapter and modify it to work.

good luck...

Wtf, they can't sell you a special part?!?

Maybe you should email some big online store and see if they can do it?

Well, it's very different from a regular adapter. It has three circular pins and two blocks near the middle, it's weird. They're listed on DBMProaudio for $15 + shipping, which I have tried to do.. This is just angering me.. I looked on radioshack just to see if they were just bs'ing about Behringer being the only adapter to work, but I can't see anything close..

:x

Was reading FAQs on Behringer's web site and I guess I could try this, but I wouldn't know what to use, and it seems a power inverter alone would cost more than the adapter for the unit. Apparently, Behringer goes to great lengths to not provide customer service and piss people off!

"Question

What do I need to do to operate my BEHRINGER mixer from a 12V DC supply?

Answer

The layout of the power supply circuitry in the respective product is such that it is not possible to operate from a single pole 12 Vdc power supply. The only feasible, cost effective solution would be to use a DC / AC inverter - these are commercially available at relatively modest prices and will ensure the maximum reliability and sound quality of the equipment. Before obtaining an inverter be sure to check the total power / current consumption and make sure that the inverter is capable of delivering sufficient current."

Sounds like you got the engineering answer.

Basically what they are saying if that you need a 12VDC power supply, with sufficient power rating (current output) and the right connector to operator the mixer. It sounds like there are 2 hot (positive) pins and 1 ground (still a little thrown by the single pole comment).

Better question, why can't I get one from the supplier on the web?

Haha exactly! I called a local store and asked them if they could special order it from Behringer for me and they agreed! Hopefully won't have to pay too much, but wow this is the hardest time I've ever had trying to find an adapter

Hopefully won't have to deal with Behringer in the future, figures I've only owned two of their products: The V-Amp 2 broke in two days and this mixer adapter was nearly impossible to find!
