Any chance you could post mp3 links? Myspace is gay....

Music is good...Personal views of mine which really mean nothing but I'd have the drums up. Guitar seems to overpowering.

I actually agree with you, but I wasn't the one mixing it, our other guitar player did, and that's how the final mix came out. I may ask him toredo it and brings the drums up a bit, because the first thing I thought when hearing it was that the drums were getting buried by everything else, and I prefer the drums to be nice and loud, at least even with everything else.

As for another link to it, suggestions? I'm not realyl aware of any of the other free hosting sites besides AcidPlanet, and everyone seems to despise AcidPlanet, so I didn't want to use that. Let me know another place, and I'll surely stick it on there.

As for the recording itself, guitars were done solely with a 5150 thru a MEsa Traditional straight front 4x12 cab for all tracks EXCEPT for the leads, which we kinda tossed on there really quick with the Dual Rectifier I got that day, so they sound kinda of cause we didn't fiddle with the EQ or anything at all on the amp, or mic placement, we just plugged the head in and went at it. We used my Angelus HGS loaded with an EMG85 running at 18 volts to record all of the guitars, with a SM57 at a 45 degree angle facing the cone and a E609 about 3 feet away from the cab, straight on with the center of the cab, I.E. the Mesa logo.

Bass player tracked his parts with his Tobias 5 string, thru a SVT4 Pro and SVT 8x10 micd with one of those Shure bass drum mics, I forgot the name of it though. It's looks like a Grapefruit/bullet thing. SM85 maybe? I can't remember. Anyways, we placed that about 3 feet from the cab dead center of the top 4 speakers, and we blended that with the DI straight into the FirePod.

Everything was recorded via the FirePod into CuBase. :)

www.mp3lizard.com

Both of those are good sites.

Do they have file size limitations? Cause the file for our song is like 10.5 megs.

absolutely sick!!!!!!

I agree with the drums comment, but a sick tune nonetheless!

i agree . the drums are a bit buried now that i listen back. and your drummer sounds like a killer drummer. turn him up man

Thanks for all the comments/compliments guys, it is surely reassuring.

Not bad for a couple of days recording in the den of my house though, and this is the first time I've ver recorded anything for real, so I was pretty nerved out. This was also the first time my other guitar player had used his recording stuff with this many tracks, and full mixing and such, so overall I wouldn't say it's that bad for a first effort. :)

For a real fast way to put up an MP3 link go here:

www.yousendit.com

Upload your song and send it to your email address. When you get your email copy and paste the link here :D

how did you track the drums?

Because of time, lack of mics and lack of money to actually hit the studio, those are Sneap samples that we programmed.

We had to get this song done really quick to get it to the guy booking the opening bands for a CERTAIN board member's band. And we only had till this week to have it finished and sent to him.

Long story short, we sent it, he got it, and we got the show.

The deep sea Horus will be having a visit with it's original owner here in the next couple of weeks.
