I'm about to dust off the Sheets Of Sounds book. Do you still have any clips laying around from examples you played from the book? And do you remember which pages they are from?

It's cool to know what those examples should sound like.

Don't think I have any left...
But I did the entire SOS2 and sent them to Jack.
Easiest way to get this under the fingers when you want stuff to compare it to...input them as midi.

I dusted off my Sheets of Sound book yesterday as well :D

I end up just randomly picking chapters of interest and working on the examples.

Is there a certain way that this book should be worked through for maximum usefulness? I like it as a resourse thus far :) .

You know the way I worked through it was on the couch in front of the TV, just picked a page and repeted it incessantly.

I need to kick myself in the ass and get SOS out again, bought it, spend a couple of weeks with it and then got back into cork-sniffer gear-tweaker homewanking mode :datz:

Are you using the economy picking style? The first time i tried that was from Frank Gambale's first instructional video. SOS seems to really encourage it. I have a hard time breaking away from the standard down,up,down,up,down,up, down,up 3 note per string style. I'm trying to break out of that rut and open up a little more.

This is EXACTLY what happens to me every time I start digging into Chord Chemistry! Man, I need to learn how to motivate myself *grr*

Would you recommend SOS2 even for those who did not get the original SOS?

I actually prefer 2 over 1 if for no other reason that there are some cool Shawn lane type lines in it.
