Sup guys, whats going on?

I'm considering trading my LP Standard Faded for an ESP Kamikaze-1. I've had the LP for more than ten years, so it has a lot of sentimental value, but i always wanted a Kami and it seems like a good opportunity. The value is pretty much similar between both guitars afaik.

Whats the overall opinion on these? Not sure which year, it has the original Screamin Demon humbucker.

It's fukkin' amazing. I had an '08 Kami 1 with the SD, best bolt on guitar I've ever touched bar none. Vid below. Now I have an '06 Tiger with the Duncan Distortion and it's equally amazing. Now, I'm not a big fan of his pups but that's solvable. The fit & finish of the S serial Kamis is as good as it gets, IMO.

They weigh a ton and the screamin demon is really low output...other than that they are great.

never trade a gibson for a esp, period

Don't be afraid of the maple body...
It has an amazing sound...

The only problem is the weight...

I say do it...

I always joke around when going to guitar shows. I ask people where I can an overpriced strat or les Paul? Everyone has one and everyone thinks it’s worth more than market.

not unless you want a guitar that stays in tune. ;)

My Kamikaze has been my number 1 for the last 9 years. Think it came with a JB when I got it.
beefy. I put numerous pickups in it. The dimarzio X2N has been in it last 5 years. Just a monster guitar.
sounds and plays perfect for my needs. This is the 6th Kamikazie I owned. Had the other graphic colored ones. But the original is my all time favorite.

My Kami is in the running for the most Badass guitar ive ever had in decades.
Love the 25.5 scale.

Yeah man, ive been reading that a lot. I do have a 78 Les Paul Custom that weights a ton (i got it here on RT, actually) that i love to death.

You ain't have that guitar for 9 years foo...I sold it to Steve K like 6-7 years ago.

So ok. Let me retract my post. Wasn’t 9 years. It was 8 years.
