So these days 98% of my playing is done on my HX stomp. So I had some free time and got tired of looking at my leviathan and mark iv sitting there so I ran one of my amps to my fryette ps-2 then ran it to my HX stomp for both effects and cab sim. Actually worked out really well and surprisingly I preferred the stock cabs vs using an IR.

I kinda feel like selling my amps since I dont really play with any kind of volume but this was a fun experiment although it took a lot of cables. One thing of note I did have to use a hum eliminator at the input to kill the feedback and noise which I already had laying around unopened

I'm really thinking about selling my amps and just getting a QC or FM3 and call it a day. Since I have a KSR PA50 showing up in the next week or so maybe the modeler and PA50 will scratch the amp itch...

It's a good setup. I run all my amps out to a Suhr Reactive Load and then into my AxeFxIII for Cab IR's and effects then into my studio monitors. I have 2 4x12 cabs but never use them, ever. But I'm sure I'll drift back to them one day.

Dude? DON'T.

I've been down this road, it just leads to you buying back those amps at inflated prices. DON'T. Spend the $300-$400 and get a Suhr RL. Then you can use your amps you have and the whatever for FX. Trust me. DON'T.

Listen to this guy. Next thing you know you want to re buy your amps you liked and everyone on the forums is going hard inflating them to astronomical prices on the used market. Not worth lol

Hmmm, I wonder how the QC would sound (and feel) through a tube power amp and cab? I can understand what you mean. If I didn’t have a dedicated amp/drum room in my house I would probably be considering the same thing. But honestly, if I’m not playing through two 4x12’s, I’m not really into it.

I’ll be glad to sell him a Pre-Gibson Diezel Herbert at $5600 plus shipping.

PRE GIBSON

As someone who has been down this road, I would advise against it. At the very least, wait until the PA50 arrives and give it a month or two with the Stomp and that. I'd recommend keeping the Mark iv no matter what as that wouldn't be as easy to replace as the Ceriatone.

I've just recently sold all my gear, spare my Two Notes Captor, and am building back up from scratch while being very picky about what I bring into the apartment. Cheers dude.

Ive been down that road as well with the Kemper and regretted it. I love the HX stomp but I do believe thats because I kept my amps this time. I went ahead and decided to keep both. the leviathan is like having 3 marshall amps and fuck if I decide to rebuy the mark iv it would be a nightmare.

Yeah having the combo of the two is the tits. I'm thinking an EVH 50w Stealth and FM3 or Axe iii would have me set for a good while.

yeah I think if I had another 5150 type amp and an Orange that would cover all the tones I like but I have a ksr pa50 coming this week and whenever the quad cortex comes out I have one coming. So Im going to hold off on any amps. But the HX stomp was at first meh ok then I got better at dialing in my tones Im loving it more. When I run my mark iv or leviathan into it though you can feel and hear the difference an actual amp makes.

I think I will feel better about having multiple amps once my wife unpacks all her freaking cloths from our spare bedroom which will give me a practice room but right now im in the living room so I never get to enjoy myself

Glad you decided to keep your amps Clint.
I too have been tempted by the dark side.
I think if I did, I would have to have both.
Someday, I will have to give up my big tube amps.
Probably when I move to my cabin and go full on minimalism.
But for now, you keep those pants flappin' and the overtones comin ok
