Relisting Dave Mustaine guitars at enormous prices. Opinions?

I guess I don;t mind. He shouldn't have made a video or went on camera saying it was for his studio. My only problem with this is Reverb. I have nothing against Revervb. I've never had a bad experience with them...but I do find it damn near impossible that one guy bought every single piece. Reverb should be explaining how that happened.

Dave is partly responsible. He shouldn't have sold them all to one person if he intended to have his fans (plural), be able to afford and enjoy them.

Yeah, this is what I want to know. I found other guys who were trying to buy the stuff from reverb and they weren’t able to, yet this guy was able to buy every guitar?

I find that SUPER SUSPICIOUS.

They were listed on Reverb. Dave didn’t decide who they went to. The real question is how ONE GUY got all of them when MANY PEOPLE were trying to buy a guitar?!?!?!

I know there is some sort of program that blocks other people out and let’s you get through. My friend is in the sneaker game, and he said they (sneaker game in general) are trying to find a way to combat the people using these programs, apps, bots, or whatever they are. He said the same handful of guys seem to get everything, even though there are literally thousands of people trying to buy at the same time.

he said that Nike started a lottery type system. I guess every week they release a limited sneaker, and you have to join their app, and then there is a lottery that lets you have a chance to buy. The craziest thing is if you get a spot in the lottery and buy a pair of shoes, right after you buy them, there is another shoe sight where you can instantly sell them from anywhere 3 times to as much as 10 times what you paid depending on that weeks release. He told me a couple times the shoes was so popular and sought after that they were selling for many thousands of dollars!!

I bet...that's just insane to me. I don't support Nike, not to be political, but It's weird to me people pay so much for something with basically super limited production value.

I dont understand. Dave listed them himself or not? Does he not have the power to either withold or ship multiple items to the same buyer?

Yeah, it’s crazy. My friend is a tile guy in Portland. He heard about the sneaker game. He got that app, and enters the lottery every week for nikes limited release. Over the past year and a half, he has been able to buy 8 pairs (you can only buy one pair when you get a lottery spot) of shoes. He says they usually cost anywhere from about $100 to $150. He has made a profit of $6500 on 8 PAIRS of SNEAKERS!! He sells them anywhere from a couple minutes to a couple hours after buying them. It’s crazy, you don’t even have to have them in your possession to sell them. I think it’s an auction/middle man sneaker sight, so you don’t get paid until the site gets the shoes and authenticates them.

he has a few kids and was looking for a way to make a little extra cash and stumbled on the sneaker game.

I think the way it works is that Reverb takes possession of all the gear, takes pics of it, checks the condition, promotes it online and then eventually lists it. All Mustaine did was hand over the gear and say how much he wanted for it.

compared to all the other famous musicians that sold on reverb his was priced very fairly. Some of the celebrity reverb sales were actually ludicrous. Just beyond exorbitant.

at first Dave said he was cool with this guy getting it. He was told that it would be in a studio and that megadeth fans could go there and play the gear if they wanted to. All they had to do was call and set up a time. Well, turns out that didn’t happen. Soon after, he listed them at INSANE prices.

Dave could have listed these for way higher himself but he chose to list them at very fair prices so his fans could get them.

the thing I wonder is how nobody said anything about how ONE GUY GOT EVERYTHING!??

Extremely lame by this Essex guy. But if what I'm reading here is true then Mustaine was beyond naive selling them like that.

Worse than the Mustaine stuff is that he's trying to sell an LTD Grynch (Hetfield model) that was owned by the guy from Evanessence for $65k. :ROFLMAO:
Like you didn't make an offer on it .....

It would be cool if Mustaine said something like "I sold those guitars for what I think they are worth". He has no reason to comment on it but it would be cool to piss on the Essex guys cornflakes.

Shit even the Hand striped homemade striped charvels that EVH did. Each unique. Played in concert. He sold off. Didn’t go for a FRACTION of what this ass hat is trying to get for a factory DEAN?!?

joke.

Wouldn't surprise me in the least if that recording studio is up to its speakers in bank debts to pay off but can't because a combination of Brexit and Covid 19 has put a stake through the heart of the music industry. So trying to flip some VMNTs signed by Mustaine in the hope some collector will pay obscene prices might recoup a year of backpayments.

The best part is how on his YouTube post, he said one of the reasons he bought them all is to make sure some collector didn’t buy them and just hang them on their wall so nobody could enjoy them ever again!! What a wildly arrogant and greedy hypocrite!! Whoa!!

I couldn't agree more!

He doesn't sell many of the guitars on Reverb. He takes offers off the site.
