Axe fx standard

Are these still being used? I see them popping up cheap all the time, and have always been curious about them. Do the old ones suck now that they’re outdated? i love my triple rec and grind petal, but the loop just pisses me off, and i need effects for a project im working on.
I know this is probably a dumb question, but i know nothing about these things.
 
If you love the Mesa, chances are replacing it with a 10-15 year old obsolete digital box won't make you happier. It's worth looking at options for the loop if you're digging the tones of your setup.

Curious about the axe, and wondering if people still used the old ones.

It’s a three channel triple. As soon as i take the loop off of bypass it sucks tone. I probably will have it modded at some point.
 
I would think, if your using it for FX, for the $650-ish price tag, you'll get as good if not better than most anything else in that price range. maybe?

It's a bit more gear to buy but you should consider buying a second power amp (doesn't have to be hugely expensive) and any decent FX unit (pedal or rack) and just slave it out to another cab (can be a small 1x12). W/D is where it's at. More shit to lug around if you're playing out but I'll never go back to using loops...the tone quality is unmatched by ANY tube or SS loop in any amp.
