the Uberkab is a great cab, but the polyfiber stapled on the back panel sucks all the life out of it. If you get one, rip that shit out. But really…. You should be getting a Fat Bottom cab!
Well that is definitely an option. Maybe someday I'll have an Ultra Lead to go with it :giggle:

It is my darkest sounding cab of what I have by a pretty good margin I admit, but I still really like it’s sound and I tend not to like most gear that’s very dark sounding

My Diezel 412 FL came with all K100’s. Not a bad sound, but not optimal for it either imo. I have mine currently loaded with K100’s crossed with V30’s. It sounds fine like that, but will put my preferred vintage speakers and maybe also some 20 watt Heritage GB’s in it later when I have time. It’s a nice cab imo. I use it more than my Ubercab. Sounds tight, modern, beefy, maybe a little sterile or neutral, but that’s just because my Kerry Wright 412 spoiled me lol

The Omega cabs I’ve tried sounded good, but I think my friend who owns tons of them just kinda overhyped them and his were all loaded with just Eminences, which are not my favorite speakers, so to be fair maybe I didn’t hear them optimally, but as they were I liked his Ubercab and Diezel cab more, which all had their stock celestions in them. My favorite cab is my Kerry Wright, but they are very pricy and no longer available. They’re also rear loaded, so they may not be your thing anyway. I don’t honestly think they’re worth what they are, but still are the best sounding cab I’ve had, so I’m happy to have one in my Arsenal
To be fair, my Omega cab is loaded with an Eminence VM12-65 which is Omega's proprietary speaker and also a DV-77. That cab has made every amp I've owned since I got it sound better than my Engl v30 cab has. The low end of the Uber seems fairly easy to control with this cab and I wouldn't call it loose or out of control whatsoever. The Diezel cab mixed with K100's andV30's is probably a great combo, would love to try that for sure.

Not sure what model Eminence’s were in my in my friend’s Omega’s, but am guessing probably the VM12-65’s if they’re the default ones. I like some of the vintage Eminence speakers. Some of them are real sleepers

I don’t recall any of the Uber’s I’ve tried having loose or out of control bottom end. I remember them being generally pretty tight (tighter than most Recto’s except the Badlander) and also more on the polished side and kinda smooth sounding

I feel like the low end on the Rev Blue can get pretty overbearing if you're not careful with the eq. But like you said, I don't find it loose by any means, but I feel like I've seen that comment numerous times from others.

Those amps do have fairly beefy bottom end and needed to be dialed in a bit differently than you’d typically do for most other amps. It’s been a while now since I’ve last tried any Uber’s, but I think I remember the Rev 2 and Twin Jet’s being tighter, but none were loose to me

I always go back to Lasse Lammert's cabinet shootout. I find the Uberkab has the most open, airy and extended top end and meaty bottom end out of any of them. Its just that the mids are not as in your face as some of the others. It's not a scooped cabinet by any means but in comparison most of the others lack the extended highs and lows of the Uberkab, at least when comparing the V30 equipped cabs to each other.

Now that you mention it, i tend to agree in general as well. I own 5 cabs, including the Uber, Mesa OS straight, and Marshall 1960BV. The Marshall has the most extended low end and brightest for sure ( I love arguing about this, it has the most low end, period, mic them up, anyone will see for themselves), but the Uber is very much not as in your face as the midrange as the others for SURE. The low end is big and extends into the low midrange More than the Marshall and even Mesa, and it’s just super thick and... meaty, just like you said. It sounds “darker” than the Marshall for sure, but it just doesn’t have the tendency to get harsh like the Marshall. It really is just a great sounding cab, high end and low end and mids jusd sit right. Almost bright and dark at the same time, which I know makes no sense, but that’s a decent description.

I think what a lot of guys really mean about the Ubercab is the low mids that make it sound so thick/fat, maybe more so than any other cab I’ve tried so far, but haven’t yet tried a Mills. I think it’s lack of harshness and more polished sound is likely because of its foam on the back panel. Some guys have removed the foam and liked it better that way, but I’ve not tried it myself. I’ve got vintage JBL’s in my Ubercab now (makes it weigh a ton lol), which are some of the brightest, most sizzly speakers out there and even with them in it, it’s still not at all harsh or rough around the edges. Put those in most other cabs and it would sound quite rude and nasty

My twin Uberkabs are both loaded with Marshall G12V Vintage speakers (Same as your 1960BV) & rewired with Colossal Purist 15 awg solid core wire. Now they sound so 3D its unbelievable.

The wires that came in my Ubercab looked very thick/beefy. Is the colossal one considerably better? Is that the same colossal that makes those thick guitar and speaker cables? I’ve got a few of those

I don't quite agree with the description of 'polished' regarding the Uberkab. Even Dave Friedman said the Bogner cabs are more raw than his own models (maybe because his might be "ultra polished" or smooth)? At any rate, I also prefer raw, gritty unpolished tones most of the time and the Uberkabs satisfy me 100%. They are, somehow, smooth yet raw at the same time. I think their overall design naturally and selectively filters out some of the nasty frequencies found in other cabs. And it has more to do with the overall design than just the Polyfil.

I don't know. Lots of companies make thick guitar & speaker cables, including Colossal.

I don’t know, compared to my Diezel 412 FL and Kerry Wright the Ubercab sounds more polished and smoother than those 2, but maybe a Friedman would be more so. Haven’t compared the 2 before, only tried them separate

Dude get a Bogner Uberkab IF you can, it is designed for it... sounds fkn amazing.

OR get something with V30s to help offset the dark scooped voicing. The V30 mids will help it cut, imho

this sounds like a win. My favorite cab( BV) and favorite speakers for sure. I may try and pick up two G12 vintages and toss out the 75s in my ubercab for them, even though I do dig the 75s. I bet the vintages kill in the uber, great idea.

Agreed. The Uberschall's are nice amps for sure, but none of them growled much to me (I still need to try a Rev 1 though). They sounded polished and more on the smooth side to me
Congrats. I loved the twin jet I had. I definitely didn't get growl. But that smoothness was nice and that amp could fuckking punch

Agreed. I think the KT88's in the Twin Jet could have also made them even a bit smoother, but also punchier than some of the other revision Uber's. My Megalith Beta came with KT88's, but am having my tech look into other tube options for it since I don't really like KT88's
