I had PP side with me just this week, they ruled in my favor w/o the waiting period because the seller i was dealing with was a dipshit.
I have had nothing but 100% feedback as a buyer since 2007.
I use PP as much/whenever i can.

I'm kind of in the middle of dealing with the same exact shit right now. Ordered something, and got a paypal email receipt with a random Asian dude's name instead of the company name (I was instantly wary). A few days later I get an email with a tracking number - checked the tracking immediately after receiving the email and the tracking said it was already delivered to me and signed for by some random person. Details of the package showed that the shipment was created like 6 days before I even placed the order, and the package weight was less than 1 pound (should have been like at least 10 pounds).

I used Paypal Credit for the payment so hopefully they'll help me out; still waiting to hear more from them

So I got an email from Paypal on Saturday and they actually sided with me and triggered a refund. After reading this thread I was expecting to get screwed but they actually came through for me!

This is ultimately a result of the fact that the human race is a living, breathing shitshow. I’m surprised we’ve made it this long

1. They have to deal with constant scams and fraud from both sellers and buyers.

2. Seller who can’t fathom that a 50lb tube amp packed in a single cheap box with peanuts that compress and shift could possibly arrive in pristine condition.

2a. Then they have no funds to issue a refund and close there accounts

3. Unreasonable buyers and sellers who’s expectation of condition is out of alignment with what the general market consensus is on condition

4. Buyers remorse and the associated overhead associated with mitigating that

it’s an impossible feat and when an honest dispute comes along they process has been tailored and tainted to account for the above reason.

I did speak with a live agent yesterday and she said she will confirm with the post office today and if she can confirm my claim that USPS confirmed it wasn’t to my address they will issue a refund. Ultimately they are the ones that eat to loss when the scammers do this since it’s such a well organized scam since the PayPal accounts used are disposable and drained.

They also fixed my case yesterday once I got someone on the phone. It was obvious no live person read a word of the explanation I wrote for my case and then appeal. But a live human on the phone took care of it.

Ive done 10's of thousands with PP. So when i need a refund they take that into account and usually come thru but i may only need one or 2 refunds a year.
Most my transactions go smooth and i don't have to register CC # or address/personal info on every website i buy from.
To my knowledge PP has never been hacked either.

THIS is fucked. I'd report this back to Reverb immediately.
I'd also lodge a counter complaint that Reverb used deceptive selling practices,
or at least didn't properly vet the seller after your initial complaint.
