Anyone have any info on these Bogner Ecstacy Mini's?

It seems to currently be a Japan only presale item. Nothing about this hitting the US, yet. Looks like it is the same architecture as the BE-Mini. Which makes sense. They are both associated with BAD.

I wonder if this'll become the new "thing"? All of the preamp pedals to become mini heads.
Like the Diezel vh4/herbert, uberschall etc. Could be really cool to see what becomes of this.
 
It would be an easy trend for BAD. Especially since the pedals, as you said, and the Synergy modules exist. Just add a power section, and boom! Seems like a no-brainer now that the base architecture is out, and the BE-Mini has sold well.

I don't get why. Bogner is a US amp builder.
Is BAD in Japan? Even if it is I don't understand why Bogner would want to release only in Japan first.

He`s always been like that, back in the 90`s he`d do single channel blue xtc amps/ mod marshalls etc for the Japanese no go in the US. I guess he has a hard on for the fuckers. I ask him what he would do a single channel 100watt blue amp for, he told me 4k, this was in 98. In other words a I dont want to do it price.

This forum has really gone to shit. It’s really sad to see because it was a great place for years. It’s unfortunate that the disease has been allowed to spread and has now taken over.

Been there more times than I can remember. First couple of times even flew into the
old Hong Kong airport. Now that could have been a Disney ride! :oops:

I've stayed everywhere from the 5 star New World Hotel in downtown (back then) British
Hong Kong, all the way to an employee dorm at a factory 3 hours into the jungle.

Spent two visits in Fuzhou. May have been the first American in their brand new McDonalds
the first trip. Had locals wanting pictures with me inside the joint which was just strange.

Ningbo and Nanjing are the two places I'd visit in the north. The couple hour rickety high speed
train ride between them was terrifying because the entire time there'd be stewards walking
briskly up and down the aisle carrying boiling water for people's tea.

TL;DR

Been to Shenzhen.

Shenzhen is an amazing city. So many amazing small areas that people went in and estsblished as the first "settlers".. just totally wiped out...but some are left.

It's so big I consider it more a province than a city.
Los Angeles is about 500 sq. miles and that's massive. (all of Manhattan/NYC is only about 35)

Shenzhen is closer to 800!

This is a gear forum and this is my take:

Bogner might know his market and the Japanese are a niche market. They line up to buy Malmsteen's latest albums and buy panties out of vending machines. They consume. So if Bogner has an agreement to make things limited and available only to the Japanese market, it is because there is good $ in it for him. That's what I suspect anyway. Also, having been to Japan a few times, they for sure talk a bit of shit about us but overall are a very respectful and loyal culture and they have high standards when it comes to gear and sales. There is a lot we can learn from them just as there is a lot that would simply never fly in North America.

I'm not getting these solid state amps though.. why not just buy the pedal unless you want a solid state power amp for some reason or I guess a wet/dry deal. They should have done small tube amps with one preamp tube and a power tube. There, we are back on track.

There's certainly a nice novelty factory to them and it's probably a perfect solution for a load of bedroom players.
 
Same footprint and basic design as the BE Mini. Same price point ($329). The BE Mini sounds great for what it is, so I have no doubt the XTC mini will sound good as well.

Will it sound better than the 3534? No

Will it sound better than the 101b? No

Will it sound better than the XTC pedals through a solid state power amp? This is what gets me thinking.
