Old Bogner XTC with Mercury Magnetic transformers

Just bought a 1998 XTC 101B -Apparently Bogner used Mercury Magnetic transformers in the earlier XTC's. After having several newer XTC's without the MM transformers - this is the best sounding by far. A lot clearer and tighter then the new ones IMHO. He never should have stop using the MM - probably stopped to save money -

yea I didn't know that Bogner wound his own power transformers? who knows what else is in the earlier models?
Hard to say. I believe the Fish were hand wound power transformers and I wouldn't be surprised if he hand wound power transformers in all of his ground up builds.

I’ve read that there were a lot of problems getting a transformer to handle all the power demands of the XTC- so maybe he built it- internet blah blah- so who knows

That rules out custom made, but doesn’t answer either of our questions - then who manufactured it?

Yeah I know I sent them pictures of the transformers the output transformer says mercury on it power transformer doesn’t I’ll let you know -
