This amp ROCKS! Definitely not a "lunchbox" feel, it's got all the beef of a much bigger amp. Huge bottom end. Tight, focused and aggressive.

Compared to the 100 watt I owned, this one has a little more sizzle, not quite the extreme amounts of gain, (though there's plenty), and sounds brighter, (in a good way), with great clarity. I also believe it's richer in harmonics, and has better lead tones. KILLER AMP!

Nice!

Yeah I watched a John Browne vid yesterday where he compared the two and same conclusion in his video...FB25=brighter, more present, focused upper mids. Bigger than a lunchbox feel/tone because it's running two 6l6, but not the girth or low end of the FB100. I remember being very impressed with the Ironball, but that was back in 2013.

I'm sure those 2 6L6's have something to do with that! ;-)

But congrats! How's the clean channel btw? Does it get dirty with the gain cranked?
Cleans are pretty nice, but I spent most of my time on the lead channel.

It has more girth/low end than my 50 watt Laney GH50L!

But, yeah. Brighter, more present is exactly how I'd describe it. Less compressed as well. I'm hitting the front end with a Savage Drive, (conservatively), and it's ridiculous! The lower output pickups in my SG Standard love it, as does the higher output Duncan Custom in my ESP. It doesn't compress like the 100. It's an expressive little beast. Honestly, I see/hear it as a different flavor Fireball all together. This one is more focused.

Awesome...Sounds like a killer little beast! You buy it new or used?

Bought it new. Got a deal, plus free 2-day shipping. Factory-sealed in an Engl box, LOL ?

Power soak sounds great at middle position, but 1 watt is kinda meh.. Effects loop is excellent, as is the noise gate. No need for my ISP Decimator, which is a huge plus!

Yeah, no more Engls without the original packaging...LOL!
