So my recently acquired MTL is bringing the goods in ways I hadn't expected. That Rhy Ch. is probably the best boutique Marshall tone I've experienced. So much fun to play I thought I'd share a short clip of my worst Page impression. Metal guys don't hate on me, you've been warned.

Sounds great but almost too clean for Zep. Doesn't have the Marshall Superlead grit or cranked smaller Fender amp grit like Page might have used in the studio. Again, not taking anything away but to me it sounds like early ultra clean AC/DC tone. Brilliant job at your re-imagined take of The Ocean, possibly my favorite Zep tune.

Sounds killer!

My gas for an MCII 50 is creeping hard....an updated / newer version MC25 is on its way to me, looking forward hearing the updates

Thanks guys, certainly a versatile amp with plenty of punch. I know some mention running KT88's in Wizards, interested to here the sonic differences.

How dare you desecrate an MTL with such classic rock filth...LOL! Sounds like the amp will do it all.
I have shamed myself. Next video will be Mayer tones on a 5150.

I knew I ripped off some bits but couldn't remember where, of course The Ocean!

I know how fond of the MC25 you are and I really enjoyed the one I had, but I'm guessing a 50w MCII will just open your ears to the next level. I know between the MC25 and 100W MCII it's no contest in the girth and sonic footprint dept. Tone is there in spades with the mC25 and I actually think it had the best tone of the six Wizards I've owned....the midrange voicing and level of harmonic swirl/bloom is a thing of beauty in that little amp. It will shit all over many 50 and 100w non Wizard amps IMO, but It just lacks in headroom and sonic footprint when you've owned the 100w Wizard.

Oh I don't doubt it would.....I won't rule it out. We did three outdoors shows over the Summer that pushed the limits of the MC25, but its been fine for every other gig. If an MCII 50 popped up at a reasonable price I would prob jump on it right now. Rare case that I've got a few bucks set aside for something like that, also why I jumped on the newer MC25. My original MC25 will likely go up for sale soon, I would move my Bogner 3534 too to make it happen. If Rick would make a 50 in the same size format as the 25 I would've already done it. Space at home and onstage is at such a premium, that MC25 on the vert Mather 2x12 is ideal. Last, I stumbled on a first version Keeley Katana today and used it with the MC25 and its freaking nuts. That little amp roars.

Sounds great! Nice work. The 2012 MTL I had was very scooped; and didn't take any of my boosts well. It had these 'hollow' mids that I just couldn't jive with. Later I picked up a 2010 MC100 and THAT was the Wizard for me. Fantastic.
Wizards are great amps.

25? 50? Nah......

GET THE 100!!

It may rearrange your internal organs with its volume, but it will be worth it!

I jest...I know your 25 kills. ANY Wizard will be a great amp. I always recommend the 100w though because, why not. It's a damn carnival ride when you turn it up.

I didn't realize you ordered a new MC25...thought you sent yours in for updates. If you went 50, I'd just go 100, but that's just me. The 100 is completely tamable, but you can choose when to unleash it's full power. I agree that the Mc25 absolutely roars

No not exactly....got a used newer / updated one at a very reasonable price....Rick won't even look at updates for a few months from now, and after penciling out the cost to ship it back and forth from Oregon to Canada, the cost of the update from Rick, and being without the amp upwards of a month this made way more sense...our band is busy and booked out through December....now I have a backup of what I'm using. All good
