So first of all, I have no idea how I’ve literally never tried anything from any of these brands. I know folks recommended the Koko a while back but I think this may not be the preferred version.

Anyway, gonna fuck with these over the holiday weekend.

Cool!
its been awhile since I played the Koko Reloaded, but I do prefer the original 2 button Koko. If you like that one, then I’d suggest giving the 2 button model a try.

Didn't like the Reloaded at all when I had it.

No clue! Lol. Won’t get to even plug these in til tonight!

what didn’t you like about it?
Everything. Highs were harsh, lows were flabby, and the sweet spot was pretty narrow. Didnt find it transparent, it definitely added color, and in my case, I just didn't like it. Worked best with an additional boost and lower settings, but then too noisy.

Congrats.

If you got these in a 3 pedal deal I wouldn't worry about it too much. I think the overall consensus is that the original 2 button (ie. larger) version is better. That is the one I have. It is pretty damn flexible but doesn't have the mid hump of say a tubescreamer variant. That said, it could probably be set that way and I just have not found it yet.

I had the Koko reloaded a while back. Didn't like it all. Not focused, too "messy" sounding. Didn't tighten things at all. Never tried the original.

Off topic, are those Tonelux EQ's in the back there? How do you like them?

The Suhr Koko boost reloaded to match what the original koko does you have to run the mid Q all the way up then use the mid boost knob for how much actual boost you want on the red side. The mid Q knob varies how much effect of each toggled position on the red side. So if you have that knob turned low the effect will be very small.
I really like this pedal found it to work great after another boost or clean boost. I found it actually adds sweetness and is more natural sounding then some of my other boosts. It doesn’t cut to much bass.

Great description. I found it a hot mess.
Everything's a hot mess until we dial it in.
I get it.
I actually threw a set of Thornbuckers
in the moat behind my house.
Makes me wonder, where's all this musical equipment GAS
carnage gonna end up, in some huge pile of foul smelling boxes in a fish market/electronics warehouse in f'n China??
F'n.. Wangs that!

They are indeed and I live them! I have 2 of the pres, and one of the compressors amd EQ’s. They’re stuff is killer.

Right on, was considering one for surgical EQ's as outboard for my 80's console. From clips they do a great job on drums. Then a good pultec plugin or hardware unit for color. I'm loving outboard more and more. hands on man, can't be beat!
