Don’t know how famous he is in US - Hank Shermann. But I bought his old V.

It was given to him by the record label in US (early 90’s) and bought by a fellow Dane in 2005. I bought it of him. It’s a pretty darn good V. He played many shows on it.

Hell yeah! He's famous to me! MF was always awesome live. If I recall, he used it when I saw them on the "9" tour, plugged into a Laney GH50 or 100L and Marshall 1960 4x12. Killer show, with Nevermore opening. First time I saw Jeff Loomis, or heard of the band, actually.

Badass! Do you know what pickups those are? I know Sherman/Denner used both JB’s and Dimarzio SD’s…….but I would assume stock 500T???

The pickups aren’t labeled. But it is Gibson pickups! They’re stamped Gibson USA

Those first two Mercyful Fate albums are absolute classics! Especially Melissa. And that looks like a my 2007. It came stock with 500T/496R but the dude i bought it from also added a roland guitar synth to it. I gutted it and put EMG's in it, but i'm not sure i like em in that guitar. I have a set of Motor City solutions sitting around that I think I'm gonna drop in there if I don't drop em in one of my Les Pauls

Their old ones are classics, no doubt. But, In The Shadows was a game-changer for them. I really dug their later works with Mike Wead. Monster player. Dead Again and 9 are both ass kickers. Both of those have the best tones of any MF album, IMO. Big and nasty crunch.

Thanks guys! What surprised me is the neck. Thinner and more comfortable (to me) than the others V’s I’ve had.

Killer score, killer player...that one has some killer mojo man.

I knew JerEvil would blow his load in this thread! That is totally awesome, he's a major part of that early MF sound/history and I think he was also on the first KD album wasn't he? Came in and out of the band in the later years too for a bunch of releases. I thought In the Shadows was killer and I believe he came back for that one.

That guitar is in great shape considering what it has likely been through. What pickups does it have in it? I'm assuming not stock. Nevermind: I got excited, you guys answered this lol. :P I can't decide if I like the stock pups in my explorer and they are the standard combo.

Love Wead, he's the perfect compliment to either Shermann or Andy. He gets it and what he should add to be the other side of the wall of sound.

Shermann was never in King Diamond, that was Michael Denner.
