Please see link above for the original Reverb ad. 2 master volumes, one on front, one in back. Lee’s 6 way mid switch. Effects loop with send and return controls. I changed the power tubes and biased the amp. Amp has not been Messed with by anyone but Lee and serviced by Jose. Original daly caps are still in the amp. No signs of bulging or leakage. Amp sounds great at low volume as well as stage volume. Retains all the raw Marshall tone. Video of me wanking just to show it’s in fine working order. Low volume. Any noise you hear is my electrical wiring. House was built in the 40’s and does not have updated electrical. All my amps are noisy in this place. Peace…Steve
The coiled wire is actually a Lee Jackson signature technique. He swore by wrapping the tone stack wires in a grounded wire to reduce noise. The push pull pot is also common to Lee Jackson for his loops. There's some cool old videos on YouTube of him modding Marshalls. Both of these can be seen in those.
These are killer and underrated mods. My first modded Marshall was an 87 2204, with Lee’s second master and mid freq knob. It was the one modded Marshall that retained all of its stock tone; unlike many that can drift slightly away from that.

Yeah, I’ve played another of Lee’s mods and also had a Metaltronix M-1000. Neither sounded close to this amp. I remember Vai had a Marshall that Lee had done that sounded great.
Does this loop take pedal delays or is it for rack? Im confused about the 2 masters as Ive had a bunch of modded amps. I don't see a foot switch jack. Is it just for more gain?

I’ve never used the loop honestly? I can try it and let you know. Normally, the return and send levels give you quite a bit of flexibility with various rack/pedal effects.
2nd master to me, let’s you get more drive from the power section. Definitely more control when dialing in your lower volume tones?for home jamming.
I’ve been asked a few times about gain. IMO this is not a high gain amp compared to stuff available today. It’s way more gain than a stock 79 2204. If you boost with any decent pedal it’ll get pretty heavy. Always sounds like a Marshall. The reason I put the clip in the ad was to give people an idea. I guess I could take another stab at a more detailed clip. I just don’t have a way to make a decent sounding recording and I’m not really a metal player.
I have to say that's probably one of the best sounding Lee Jackson mods I've ever heard! Usually his mods can be thin, trebly and bit strident in the highs. This thing just growls.............................VERY NICE! GLWS!
If I bought it I’d replace the rocker with a new one that works. Then remove the added indicator light and install another control pot in that hole. A depth control would be perfect and you wouldn’t need to feel guilty about drilling a hole. It’s in just the right place as is. Win-win.
You have any delay pedals you can try in the loop to see if they work as they should and there’s no sound drop or weird stuff that some loops do? I’m looking for a modded Marshall but would hate to by one then not be able to use it like I need to

I plugged in my TC Flashback into the loop last night. Sounded fine. The send and return levels give you plenty of room to match levels. The “send” pot is a push pull that bypasses the loop. Just realized that. Also, the second master is a push pull that bypasses that pot also.
If I may add…..I’m not looking to try to talk someone into buying this amp. I want someone to feel compelled to by it and if they don’t enjoy the amp….move it along.
The questions about gain???? It’s all subjective right? My idea of a lot of gain, may not be yours?
