Awesome… you got a later one with the pots on the front!!! Let me know if you want to know how to add depth pots. You think it throws sound now… ?
That does sound interesting man - You've piqued my curiosity now! haha

Dude.. That was downright NASTY.
Reminds me of a French SciFi gore movie.
Those ultra gritty, super sketchy characters
with a plot that releases disturbing thoughts long after the viewer watches the movie.

How much dirt do you have in your nails??

It’s super easy to do and away from the dangerous parts of the amp. You can even wire it up crudely just to hear the differences. You could just wire in a cap, but it can be too much and make your teeth rattle. ?. If you like it, you would remove one of the 2ohm jacks and use the cutout for the pot or switch.

Here is a picture with just using a simple switch and a .005 UC cap. Like I said, it’s just too much and feel adding a pot to be able to adjust it makes more sense. I actually added a push pull pot to be able to change the cap from .001 to .003. I much prefer .001 simply because it keeps the frequencies I like most. Of course you might like .002, .003, etc. one thing I do is run one side at .001 and the other side with .002 to really fill out the sound. Best part is that if you run the pot to zero, it’s out of the circuit. ?

Interesting- so the S400 uses 6 of the big 300V caps per bank. The Colis use 8, and the M180 uses 10! I've always equated those to "horsepower". but I'm no EE...

Hmmm, I might be wrong about the 400 having more filtering than the Coliseum or M180. I'm going off a conversation I had with Mike B decades ago. More of those caps wouldn't necessarily equal more filtering (equal 220uf values aside) if one amp design had them wired in series and another in parallel. And that is the end of my technical knowledge on the matter lol

How does the Strategy 500 differ?
I picked up a Strategy 500 a few weeks ago. I think they are pretty similar. Both are 2x200W. But the 500 have 6550 tubes in four of the sockets where the 400 have 6L6 or EL34. There are also some extra features like half power switches, deep switches and switch tracks. It’s very transparent, but I suspect the 400 is even more transparent due to the simpler design. It is killer though!

Buuut I have a Strategy 400 coming next week, so I’ll have to get back on that ?

They are BEASTLY. I swear I heard my windows rattle when I slaved my old SRG C+. The 400 runs all 6L6 but the last row can run EL34 if you want...all 6L6 though was my preference and more powerful...not that you needed all that power. Lol

I actually run some Chinese EL34 STR in each side of my S400 since I only own Marshall type amps and wanted a little more traditional Marshall sound.

Haha yes, I definitely hear my basement windows rattle when I slave my Mesa mark amps through the 500.
I love the transparency it has when using the slave out of the amps. Especially the C++ DRG. Since the slave out takes the whole amp you’ll still have the SimulClass characteristics, but with more balls!

I had to test this beast in stereo through 2 cabs , so I took my VHT cab to the studio (these things are so freaking heavy!)

When you guys slave your amps through those other poweramps, what do you do with the power sections of the heads themselves, just plug them into a load or something?

Has to have a speaker or load plugged in. That amp would have died already....
Right? I saw his volume was up, so either there's another speaker that's being driven & part of the room tone or he's smoking his OT. Or, maybe a load box.
