That’s my old amp from around the time of the first run of these....it sounds killer, and seems to be a shade more aggressive than the newer versions....the layout changed internally but I’m not at all convinced that the updates are any better than the way this amp sounds. I think this amp has better clean / cleaner tones than either of the current MC25’s I have. FYI - for sonic reference the “Need to Know” clip I posted in the Wizard section is this specific head, plugged straight in, no additional boost or drive.

GLWS !

Congrats, see my post above :sneaky:
Yeah, I was pretty happy to see that actually. I’ve been researching this amp for a while and I recognize you as something of an MC25 evangelist that knows what you’re talking about. I’m trying to temper my expectations but I’m really looking forward to the wizard experience

Congrats! One of these days I really need to get my hands on one sometime in the near future.

Haha yeah guilty as charged....I’ve got two of them right now ? I actually had sellers remorse when I sold this one here even though it was only because I had an updated replacement. When I took it over to the guys house and hooked up a Friedman 4x12 AND a Butterslax 2x15 / 2x12 it was freaking ridiculous how good it sounded. It took 2 minutes and guy said “I’ll take it, but this is just a gateway drug amp” For my uses / needs this has been the perfect amp for me in tone, power, and footprint. It’s a simple amp. I’ve gigged this exact rig nearly every weekend for a year now, and it’s consistently sounded killer, if it ain’t right it’s me, not the amp. Not sure what your plans are for speakers / cabinets but I swear by the Gold / Creamback M combo I’ve been using for a few years now, super efficient and has the potential to be loud AF, way way louder than I can possibly play in any indoors club. Everything I’ve ever written about this amp is based on years of actual use in a live band environment, I’m as critical as anybody and I still love the way it sounds when I hear clips of it even on crappy iPhone YouTube clips of our band. Also FYI - that foot switch needs a 9volt battery to power the leds.....if they go out that’s the reason. Switching function will still work though. Feel free to hit me up if you have any questions.

I just bought it…so stoked!
Awesome.

Now I can see why you were on a race to get to 50 :D

At least you did it with class. I would have done it the same way. Welcome again to R-T and make sure you give us the NADs post honeymoon. Or hell, even during the honeymoon

Buuuuusted...Yeah, I tried to be respectful about it and I'll absolutely post some feedback!

I'm sure I'll need to ask about something, that's crazy that it's actually your old amp, I feel like you're polishing a shotgun as I'm about to take your daughter to the prom or something ?. I'll do some cab experimentation but I'm really just hoping that it vibes with one of my 4x10's for my backs sake. I'm not saying I'm great but I'm an honest player with a few Matchless that have already taught me how to be deliberate so I think we'll play well together
