Best I’ve ever experienced, I know, many will say ‘insane’…
But the difference will blow you away.
The sweat extended full midrange textures and bottom end clarity / tightness is just monstrous and nothing short of incredible.
A fellow member here turned me onto these, as well as their instrument cables which are even more spectacular, and I’ve sworn by the Mogami 3368 Platinums for years, until recently… he’ll chime in if he wishes.

I was recommended not to use such cable for between an amp Head and cabinet. It's not designed for that purpose.

This was directly from Mason at RigDoctor.
Really?

How come?

I've been using this for 5+ years and no issues and sounds great.

I've always thought as long as the gauge is heavy duty enough to handle the load from head to cab, you should be right

If you break open your cabs, and use 10 guage romex from the jack to the speaker...

...it's night and day!
I’ve used Marshall Sound Runner 238 strand oxygen free copper 10 gauge like Bogner for years in cabs and for cables.

I am trying to find what he posted. But if I recall, he said it's not meant for that purpose and it's safer to use a multi conductor speaker cable. I used to use the same cable my self. One thing I noticed about it is it got hot after using it for 3-4 hours.

Needless to say, it was enough reason for me to switch to the mogami 3103.

I'll have to check mine out and see if that happens too.

Thanks for the info, i'll do some more research.

Interesting to see some high end cable makers using this cable for guitar amps.

Thankfully I've never had any issues with amps using these cables so far.

Generally, you don't want to use shielded cable for speaker cables. It's a fire hazard. Speaker cables should have the same cables for the hot and ground, so you need unshielded cable.

Now, most shielded instrument cable is 20-24 gauge, and the Mogami 3082 is heavier gauge, so it's probably going to be fine, especially if you don't have everything cranked. Still, I'd recommend avoiding shielded cable for speakers. It's already carry high current, so noise is minimal issue on it, unlike an instrument cable where noise is a real concern.

EDIT: When I looked at redco, they do have those Mogami cables advertised as speaker cables, so that's something new to me. My experience has been good with their recommendations and products, so I wouldn't worry about these. I just noticed in their image that the shielding is extra

Thank you.

thanks for the info mate... you learn something everyday :)

What speaker cable do you like to use?

I'm pretty sure I have the 14ga. Redco cable (8114). I don't get too picky on speaker cable: just needs to be thick enough to carry the current and enough insulation I can stomp on it a couple of times without worrying about anything. (I'm one of the guys who's literally used lamp cord in the past.)

I had to remove the hyrdo wires in the Bogner 212 with a torch. LOL. Ridiculous and completely uncecessary. When I replaced the speakers I used a regular guage wire. It sounds immensely better due to the speaker change and in all honesty, no issues. I mean, if you have looked at the size of the wires that go from the crimp/solder point to the cone, you would realize it makes not an ounce of difference.

So sounds like using Mogami 8032 isn't ideal but also not a major issue generally. Maybe check it's not too hot.

I thought I was the only one who muther fucks Bonger for that...lol
My soldering setup can go up to 775 degrees and I have a bunch of different tips.
I just took the 2 Greenbacks out of a 4x12 Bonger and made it all V30's .
Even with a wide chisel tip it takes forever to melt that cable off the terminals.

They probably built them using induction soldering. We used them in aerospace all the time.

I just use whatever I can find that looks decent. Right now I gotta couple Planet Waves speaker cables that have lasted me 5+ years. To be honest, I can't really tell any difference between speaker cables, as long as it looks decent quality I'll use it.

I bought some bulk Van Damme 14AWG cable for $30 that will last a lifetime and just make my own. Otherwise, Mogami.
