I wouldn’t sell it either, that clip is like “the” tone. Who knows when you’ll find another and at what price, guys aren’t flipping them as much as in the past. All you ever hear from guys that sold their Cameron’s is “I shouldn’t have done that”

Have had some great offers and trade ideas- everyone’s been cool and no one’s been unrealistic.

I made the mistake of plugging into it the other night and I’m thinking I need to hang on to it for a bit. With amps like these, it’s not like you can just go grab another when you want that sound again. I’m leaving the ad up but I need to figure out what makes the most sense. This is THE Cameron for me and my style.

Yeah dude, you dont want to sell that.

It was my understanding that the Ocean mod was the pet name that Doug Aldrich gave Mark Cameron's Norum mod amp that then became known as the Aldrich mod. Maybe Psychodave can clarify things. I had also heard that some of the early Ocean mod had a Jose Master in them.

I'm sure there are more Cameron historians on RT than me.

He confirmed with me recently that the Norum mod and Aldrich mod are in fact two different mods. The Aldrich that Dave owned could do either/both.

The ocean mod from my knowledge is a different mod than the other two. Aldrich gave it the name because the white noise/gain sounded like a rolling ocean.

Fun fact…that ocean sound is either high frequency instability/oscillations or a bad preamp tube.

The Aldrich’s I have heard and played are all way more aggressive than oceans I’ve heard in person.

Every ocean mod I've seen has been setup like a low to mid gain jose type thing. Apparently Mark had told me he couldn't do real ocean mods anymore because he ran out of a specific vintage part that's not made anymore.

Mark has two real main mods , obviously he's done tons of mods and other stuff but really the main two are

His 3 gain stage jose style one which has a cathode follower and pre eq master with clippers

Annd his aldrich or norum which is non cathode follower 4 stage with a standard master volume. The norum cathode setup is different from the aldrich.

Most guys don't know or understand the difference. I've bought several cameron mods that were sold as Jose's that were aldrich mods , and vice versa. They are very different sounding mods , I like the aldrich way more , all tube no clippers.
