Good tones man. So here's my deal, I have been using a Sunset Strip for almost a year now and I love it. I installed another Roxy just for fun, and...I might change to the Roxy again. It just feels "easy" to play and sounds so huge. I have been playing heavier stuff lately...I love both of them. I still will say for STP style rock the sunset strip just NAILS it.

Anyone with a tone comparison between the Roxy and the wicked 8? I put a new super D in my vintage Rich Bich which is all maple and it has too much of a distortion type pickup grit around the notes in comparison to an old degaussed Super d's.

Love this thing. Beat out my Wagner Ironman which is another solid pickup. I have found the one now. @scottosan did a vintage braid on mine since i don't coil split, and it sounds and feels great. Here is a song I am writing with it.

Cool clip man. Very dark and ominous sounding. ?

The Roxy is a tad hotter and smoother, the W8 grittier with more teeth and aggression. The W8 is very well balanced and doesn’t get harsh or hard sounding like some ceramic pups. If your Bich is on the bright side, I’d try the Roxy. Better yet, at Scott’s prices, I’d buy and try them both, because they really are as good as everyone says. Scott is the man. ?

I am totally looking at another build and/or a greco specifically to try the Roxy. Jk but it is exactly what I'm planning to go in my next one

Through same amp

Roxy:

Wicked 8:

I went with a Wicked 8 for my explorer build. Glad you posted this. What amp are you running with this?
I was more concerned with writing the song than actually using an amp. this is a preset i made on the fortin cali neural gimmick on the computer.

I appreciate it. Believe it or not, I was listening to meshuggah at work last week, and I was like, I wonder if i could just make up a simple tribal type beat on the drums and just play guitar to it. Then i just started double tracking and i don't know. I took off work yesterday and came up with the beat in the morning and just started playing around for a few hours. You can hear how terrible the volume is. Some of the tracks much louder. I am not an engineer. Just stumbiling through writing a song.

Sounds killer man! I love scotts stuff. I now have a roxy in my two main guitars, use them for everything heavy.

I probably need to harass @scottosan about trying a wicked 8 sometime

The Cali plug in sounds surprisingly great too

Yeah. The artist made and factory presets on the cali are quite horrible, in my opinion if you have a high gain pickup. So I made my own based on the custom/59 pickup i had at the time in an indonesian jackson v. It sounds great with my custom jackson v and scott's pickup also.
