Sounds awesome, still would like to find one, but I may have to break down and order a new one

Yep, I didn't like Gear 3 either.

Gear 1 boosted was hair metal heaven.

Gear 2 boosted was California thrash metal heaven, and then some.
 
I have a Splawn modded Marshall that I really love. But I can never play out with it b/c I need a clean tone. The Comp does not have a clean correct?
 
Man, that is so easy to hear and cuts thru beautifully. I bad a Competition back in the early 2000s and loved thst amp.
 
Sounds like killer rock tone to me. Nice playing as well. Reminds me of a cross between Schenker and Gillis (the whammy frills).
 
I like my purple comp but dont play it much. I think its a 2009 with heyboer trannys. Sounds really good but my cabs have v 30s and I think it will sound better with a greenback or small block cab.
