Here comes the SLO pedal

Within hours all the videos posted. Seems odd....like there was a deadline to be met via "paid review."
Have you never heard of a Non Disclosure Agreement or Embargo for upcoming products for reatilars, advertisers, etc? I don't know why everyone acts like it's a conspiracy when this is incredibly common practice in ANY industry where there is marketing and advertising for new products.

Yeah man, it's almost as if this thing called "marketing" exists and is planned out in advance!

credibility is going out the window though. We all know this has been happening for awhile now the second a new product is released . And when dozens come out all at the same time, ogling over this not very great at all pedal ( yea I know that’s an opinion), it really makes you question how seriously you can take any of these guys.

How is the credibility going out the window? There is a product with a release date and the subsequent product videos for said product drop all at once. That is how it is done. It can appear a little overwhelming but that is how it is done now a days. Top that off with all the you tubers doing videos and they want it out ASAP so their video/channel gets seen and it adds to the feeling of the mass shill factor. It is the way of the ToAnZ of the IntErWebZ product launch. :)

I mean credibility as in an accurate real review vs just trying to get paid/views like you stated. That’s the point, everything everyday is a gushing review. I have no idea how anyone can think that sounds good and completely gush over it.

I hear ya. Different people like different things for different reasons and we all know how certain pedals work and don't work with certain amps and situations. That being said, I can't recall ever seeing a review where the reviewer said this is shit...lol. I guess in that case there simply is no video. The other side fo the coin "could" be that nobody now a days ever makes an imperfect product. :ROFLMAO:

I watched the vid by Nielsen. Thought it sounded pretty decent.

and all of a sudden every youtube personality with a site has this pedal in hand ready to go and raves about it!
As usual.

Seriously, that pedal is at least 15 years too late and I highly doubt that Mike even had a hand in designing it or would've ever designed something like that out of his own volition. Just look at the Supercharger.

It just smells like another cash grab just like all these pedals paired with underpowered Class D modules in a headshell that are sold as mini amps.

The DIY community already pumped out similar if not identical SLO pedals for $40 over a decade ago and now we get this. Sigh.

Not interested, never was and never will be.

It did, but have you ever heard him (or Pete Thorn) demo a piece of gear and have it sound bad ?

Or even heard them say it sounds "meh" ?
Pete Thorn, everything he demos sounds the same. I rarely like anything he demos. There has been stuff that Neilsen posts I don’t like. The SLO pedal sounded pretty good, wonder what it woukd have sounded like directly into a power amp or interface. The G3 pedal I just picked up sounds like crap into an amp, but direct into my interface with an ir sounds great.

Still need to watch the op video…

They set the amps weird.. like completely unusable in any other circumstance except for that pedal.

Everything is changed to make that one piece of gear sound good.

Agreed.

A lot of Pete’s stuff sounds good, but it’s a red flag to me that NOTHING ever sounds bad.

It’s impossible to find an honest opinion on most gear reviews unless it’s a non shill nobody that you stumble upon.

I don’t know about all that. Neilsen shows the amp settings in his video, didnt see anything too crazy there. Never played thru a Friedman amp, so can’t comment on that. I think the SLO pedal would sound good thru my rcording rig.
