You guys can hear the iii in the other thread, it didn’t sound anywhere as good as the jp2c or mark V, that’s why I say grab a recto for some different flavor

I have a triple recto already. The MKIII is a red stripe simul class

MK III sounds better in real life, tho.

III is more raw, aggressive and open, IV is more modern(ish), tighter and compressed. Both are killers and unmistakably Mark af. I personally prefer the III. If I were in your shoes, I’d get one of those depending on your tastes, sell the V, and get a two channel Recto. And don’t listen to all the different color stripe BS because that’s all subjective, the differences between them are minimal, and they’re all killers in their own right.

Is the IV an A or B version? If A, I’d opt for it. If not, would prefer III red stripe… just my personal preference, among those choices. Or, get a Tremoverb. ??
I have a mark IV rev be for sale on here.

Mark IV.

I hate every III I've ever tried (Purple, Blue, and Green). Bright and abrasive high end and the low end is too out of control. I prefer the tighter, smoother IV, V, and JP.

See I love the III Green Stripe I have . I got rid of my 2c+, iv and v. But I should have kept 2c+ for investing lol

I have a red stripe Mark iii Simulclass. It's a really good sounding amp. Aggressive, tight and lots of gain.

I've actually never played a Mark IV

played both. critically. by all accounts i *should* be a IV guy. love cleans, independent eq, smoother fusiony lead channel…very nice amp.

i own a blue simul eq III and have always preferred its raw unbridled fire over the other marks. III makes me want to play. IV makes me wanna turn knobs and argue about tone. ?
