Hell yes. I had one back in 2016. If memory serves they changed the necks since then? Either went from 1 piece to 3 piece, or they're not quartersawn anymore; can't remember.

I swapped all the chrome hardware for black hardware (Floyd too) from another guitar, and put an FU Tone PMS under the bridge pickup. Played very well, but I never could get along with that RTM pickup for some reason.

I do regret selling mine, but I think I might have to try and find one again. I love snakeskin, I love H-S, and I love Charvel ?

They changed the necks several times on the standard pro mods, but this one is a 2021 and it's still 1 piece

I've been wanting one of these for a while, but didn't want to shell.out the cash based on my recent experience with MIM Charvels over the the last several years. That said, I knew these were different spec and used better woods. First, these are in a different league than the standard MIM pro mod. The have a custom neck profile that is thinner, has more shoulders and the edges are rolled smooth like butter. They use quarter sawn maple as well. They have the dinky body that shifts the neck placement and makes it he guitar feel more comfortable and compact. The setup on this thing is great too. And I got it for cheaper than a new Standard MIM

Nice! I got mine a month ago and apart from the slight lift at the back ( skunk stripe which they are going to pay to get sanded and touched up), I absolutely love the finish and sound of this thing. Pickups are perfect and it is smooth as butta'. My floyd bar rattles a bit now and again depending what note I hit but playing a bit louder you don't hear it. I got a good deal on mine overseas, they are priced ridiculously high here in Canada. I saved myself 700$.

How's the action with a flush mounted floyd? Is the neck angled to get a lower action on higher frets?

I prefer a flush mounted floyd..more travel down for the bombs. I will say the action on my Snakeskin was a bit higher than my liking so I dropped the floyd a bit more and it's easy to rip on. No problem. I am not sure if I could get it just barely kissing the frets without buzz though.

Since I've sold exactly zero WD Forte' and haven't updated my website with it or even the Psykes for that matter, ? I am likely going to modify my original design do something closer to this wind with an A2. I just need try it with an A2 and go from there. A2 magnets adds more inductance to a pickup than A5. That's why A2s have a more saturated feel than A5. So, I suspect it'll be a number of winds difference and a magnet swap. I really like this wind pattern

I'm sold on the RTM. I frigging love it. Has everything I want in a pup. In a pinch I think the JB A2 is good too but it doesn't have the juiciness the RTM does. I think you should do one similar.

I was commenting to @LPMojoGL yesterday, that the new whiskey prototype I have has a similar tone and feel. I think using and A2 and a few more winds and it'd be pretty close. An A2 in a modern JB isn't even close in my honest opinion

I thought it was until I compared my JBA2 with RTM and I also came to that conclusion.. now my favourite JB2 that was my go to seems so lack luster/tame in comparison to my snakeskin. I have a feeling that the Mick Mars overwound pup is probably something similar. Either way, the RTM or anything like it would be a good fit for a Mars style build.

The JB2 that I played in the Charvelcaster Scott made was all mids and lacked the balls of the Suhr SSH+, Roxy and all of the pups Scott has come up with since. Scott says he likes the RTM and isn't going to swap it out. I don't believe him.

I still have Jalens in my Chubtone, so there's precedence with me leaving stuff in. I need to have non-tonenerd stuff for reference pickups

Pretty sure it's a 1000 series. The main difference between those and the German one are the fine timers aren't as smooth and the arm coupler isn't as good. New brass fine tuners and a German coupler and it's hard to tell the difference.

The base plate thickness is different along with something else that I can’t remember. Side by side one is noticeably taller (again, I can’t remember which one ?).

I've had mine since 2021.(I traded an Ibanez for it, and I think it was a couple of years old already)
I really like it. The neck was what sold me. It felt just like my old Partsocaster, which had a Charvel neck,
that I made in late '83/early'84. The pickups sound great; especially the Duncan 1/4 Pounder at the neck.

Note: straight from floyd tech talk: floyds ship @ 10" radius and therefore are 10" stock.They are only 12" if you take the shims out..

This info has been extremely valuable over the yrs to get killer action on floyd bridges. I also found this a long time ago,can't even remember where.

The floyd radius post above is wrong... the OFR is 12" radius with no shim and 10" with the large single shim that it ships with installed.
