I need a headphone amp that’s great for metal and shredding so I can practice from away from home . Any of you guys use any ?

I'm using the first gen Vox "Metal" it's decent and maintains note definition better than some of my amps. Has overdrive, tone, vol, and aux input. Clean(OD down) is muddy and lackluster, though. I've tried pretty much all the Amazon brand ones, and can't personally recommend any off the top of my head. Also plays nice with neutral/studio headphones, not so much with ones leaning toward bass.

I have not but curious about Amplifi - an app you run on your phone

Thanks . I was looking at that one

I think the fact that it's simple helps. Just a solid state headphone amp, really. Some of the others that have modeling options seem to introduce a decent amount of delay even when not using those features. I have no experience with the current second gen Vox headphone amps, so no comment there.

That’s cool . Delay can get annoying when not wanted

I was always curious about the diezel zerrer but haven’t tried one yet .

Not the cheapest option but the Suhr Reactive Load IR works really well.
I’ve tried some of the other headphone amps and they sound thin and weak.

Have a look at the Mooer Prime P1. I dig mine. I made a small wireless rig around it. The P1 comes with a hardcase that also holds the USB charging cable.

edit: P1, F4 footswitch, two instrument wireless, one wireless in-ears, USB charging hub, and it all fits in luchbox sized softcase,
