The underlying problem is the news channels.
They should be reporting unbiased news.

If all you hear is negativity 24/7 one way or another it becomes brainwashing

There's so much going on in the world that doesn't get reported in the US

I mostly stopped watching the US news channels

Even Hannity is pathetic with the same dem bashing every night.

Then you have Don Lemon complaining about Biden decisions

He's part of the assholes that put him there.

If I want to watch the news I'll put on euro news. At least I can find out what's going on outside of DC

Network news used to be a loss leader. It was left to the rest of network programming to return profits, while the news was presented as a public service to the viewers. In the era of the 24-hour news cycle, ratings are king. In competition with other outlets and social media, there's a race to report the headlines, first. The facts come, later. Instead of broad-based news reports, we get hyperbole and/or speculation.

There's always been some bias in reporting. A provider leans into its base (or its sponsors) in order to maintain viewership. "Cable news" has taken us to a place where the lines are so blurred, between opinion and fact, that many (most?) don't distinguish between the two. Viewers go where they can hear what they want to hear.

There's a lot of false equivalencies tossed around. Yet, when you read the studies of bias and accuracy in reporting, there are clear differences, even with "the usual suspects".
