Congrats on the Diezel. Don't have a VH4, never played one, but have a VH2 and love it, so I am sure the VH4 is equally as good or better for that drop D power chording.

I play in B standard usually, or drop A. It just kills with lower tunings!

Congrats man, glad you're loving it.

I had run through pretty much the entire Diezel lineup and had come to the conclusion that they weren't for me (outside of the Big Max which I love as their take on a JCM800 style single channel amp).

I had never played through a VH4 though. Picked one up just to satisfy that last bit of Diezel curiosity thinking I wouldn't quite jive with it but I was blown away. Pure unadulterated presence, punch and grinding brutality. The character of the distortion is so damn unique, sounds like you're playing in an alien hellscape. Its legendary status is well deserved in my book.
It was hard for me to dial in and get boosted like I wanted , but I fell in love with it

I just bought a new guitar today, so I called my shop on the way home and told them to switch the guitar they were already working on for me to C# standard for the setup.

My Channel 1 on the VH2 (which does clean to Channel 2 on the VH4) maxed out and hit with a Blues Driver sounds amazing.

what boot do you like on the VH4.

I like ts9 and koko boost with it . Also boost with a 10 band boss eq . I love the amp now but it did mess with me at first compared to others I have

Is Tool "The Pot" a Diezel VH4? Cause I think that tone is pretty cool,, especially on the palm mutes.

Lots of VH4 up in the mix on 10,000 days to my ear. 'Vicarious' main riff has that VH4 Ch3 sound. That open D string hit blooming out. 'Right In Two' riff at 5:23 also. I hear a touch more Marshally upper mids and crunch into the mix on The Pot, at least two different tracks, panned left and right. Jambi has even more of that tight upper Marshally crunch in the mix to make that percussive pull off riff stick out.
