Would you Re-fret a new guitar you love?

I love stainless steel 55090 Jescar.

My Strandberg's came stock with Jescar 51100.

What's the big deal? Just get the refret done and play the fuck outta the guitar.

All my new guitars will get refretted within the month cos' I love stainless steel 55090 Jescar. I love my guitars more when they get my fave frets in them.

Interesting, 55090 is what I don't like, at least so far. Gonna give it time to grow on me, but too speed bumby compared to 47104.

At the end of the day, it’s your guitar and if you feel like you want to refret it then go for it.
I bought an ‘81 Gibson LPC a few years back but I absolutely hated the frets. They were in great shape but we’re very low and flat out of the factory.
The first thing I did was send it off for a refret. I settled on Jescar stainless 51100.

I’ve also refretted another LPC with Jescar stainless 57110 and those are chunky.
Can’t decide on which size I like more, but both are awesome.

Point is, refret the guitar with whatever brand and size of fret wire you like. It's a no brainer.

Another vote for re-fret here. If the guitar sounds and feels great for you (neck profile) make it that 100% guitar. Not a 85%. I can’t stand the little frets Gibson uses now and if I came across a newer LP that somebody had put Jumbo’s on, I’d be super happy about it. I bought an 80’s V in the mid 2000’s and it had the original, wide and low frets. Could barely grab a string. Threw Jumbo’s on it after a month and it’s been an amazing playing guitar ever since. Still has those frets (not SS) and hasn’t needed anything, that at least I can notice.

I'd try to get use to it.

I prefer jumbo frets and ended up with a LPC that for whatever reason has very tall and narrow frets. Felt strange at first but really it's the height that I like about jumbos, so I got use to it. For whatever reason the narrower wire has me wanting to grip harder for no reason. I just need to remind myself to relax my fretting hand (which I should do anyway) and it's all good.
