I use both together a lot. My trinity of amps is Hermansin 5 gain stage , Wizard MTL2 and Herbert mk 1 . With all 6l6s as well. Those tubes bring Herbert to a perfect spot for me . I love both tones . Great stuff

Killer tones all round ,
Herbert has such a great full frequency smear and chunk that just fits the style - the Wizard is just a bit too compact and classic sounding compared.
For my taste anyway.

What 6L6 tubes are you using in the Herb ?

Depends on what you're going for, but the Herbert sounds fuller for sure. As I would expect it to. Few amps will fill out the frequencies in the lows and low mids like a Herbert. For metal, the huge bottom and crisp top (especially with the mid cut function used tastefully) is hard to beat.

I'm definitely going for more that modern high gain full sound, clear and balanced with aggression yet clarity.
Thanks for checking it out! ?

Thank you mate ?
You hear online that the Herb can get lost in a mix, not enough mids etc... That is totally up to the user settings in my opinion. There's plenty of nice mids in there if you want them.

The Wiz to me sounds like it's caught in between classic and modern. Unique for sure.

Using JJ6L6s from Eurotubes in this one.
